I believe our haul of two trophies along with a third place finish makes us the second most successful team in England this season, which considering our injury crisis is an incredible achievement. How would Chelsea cope with losing Costa, Hazard, Matic, Terry etc. for long periods of time. They wouldn't and I don't think that should be forgotten when comparing us to them. The gap between us on the league table isn't representative of the difference between us and them. I haven't checked, but I'd be willing to bet that our form in 2015 is at least as good if not better than theirs. Anyway, what I wanted to say is that I think we can win the League title next year. Watching us yesterday and thinking about how far we've come in the last two years was amazing. We're no longer the Arsenal who bottle the big games and whose big players never deliver when it counts. It counted yesterday and all of our players, not even just the big players, delivered. And we didn't bottle it; we did the opposite and put in the most dominant display in an FA Cup final that I've seen in a long time. I remember thinking, just how can this team be improved? And that's the point. I don't think this team can be improved that much. When we have our first team with everyone fit we can beat anyone in England at least. Therefore I am confident that if we can find a way to reduce our injuries, like we have in the second half of the season, we'll win the league next year, whether we add to the squad or not. Because or current team is the best in England. Thoughts? Agree?
I think after Chelsea we have had the best season of any Club in the league. FA Cup + Community Shield + 3rd is only trumped by Chelsea's league and league cup. And I think it could be argued we had the second best season last season, with only City's league and league cup trumping our top four + FA Cup. The last couple of seasons have been a clear improvement on the years proceeding them. It's great to be winning trophies and I think we have the bulk of a squad capable of winning the league. With a couple of clever additions and a bit of luck on the injury front Wenger will bring home the title.
I hope it bloody can... any team that can't beat Monaco can definitely be improved. As great a day yesterday was, don't let the FA Cup win brainwash you.
Don't forget we only went out on away goals, which is a stupid rule anyway, after a freak result in the first leg. Every team has off days.
Are you really counting the Community Shield? Does that mean Moyes won as much as Wenger last season? You may want to have a rethink on that one tbh. The Community Shield is a friendly trophy. If we are counting that, then we may as well count all the pre season cups.
The Community Shield is an official FA trophy so yes technically Moyes won as many trophies as Wenger last season but you'd obviously rather have the FA Cup than the Community Shield. It's a trophy but less of an honour than the other cups and the league.
Like the International Champions Cup (or whatever it`s called) king Luis won in America this season, at least that wasn`t just a one game kick about, it was an actual knockout competition against teams like Real Madrid, Roma, Inter and Liverpool
You have to go an entire season as the best team or win the mighty FA Cup to book a place in the Community Shield
No denying that we're improving, but our poor start and loss of focus in the first leg showed our lack of consistency. But we were competitive for the second half. Key for next season is to get a good start and build a solid platform, we have the squad to last the whole season now. A few more additions will give us a better chance should we lose a few through injury in preseason.
