    I question Thompsons honesty here,

1, Why didn't Thommo defend himself when he first got suspended; reasons came out why he was suspended, and he still didn't defend himself........doesn't make sense.

2, Thommo and Redders are best friends, best friends talk to each other, but Redders continually stated he didn't know why Thommo was suspended, nor did he mention he had spoken to Thommo about the incident........very suspicious.

3, Thommo was given a letter of suspension. Did the letter contain the reasons for his suspension? if it didn't, the first thing anyone would do is confront the boss asking what the reasons are; it hasn't come to light that Thommo did this, or attempted to do it.

What's also very interesting, and wreaks of suspicious is, how Thommo instantly accepted his suspension without any hoopla or question.

4, Redders said he had been undermined and would seriously consider his future after Thommo's suspension. Redders also said he wanted the top job afterwards and didn't seem to be too concerned his best pal had been suspended, but played on it to try and gain brownie points for himself, and obviously wanted to keep the job, he seemed happy enough to carry on without Thommo.

5, Redders favourite sayings are "if I'm honest" "to be honest" "being honest" etc, something that for me wreaks of dishonesty and cover ups. Thommo used the term "I can say with 100% accuracy" in his statement to media, this says to me that Thommo isn't revealing everything. Thommo also goes on to mention how he hopes other clubs will look past his suspension, something that seems to worry him more than finding out the so called reason for being suspended.

6, Why now? could it be because Redders lost the top job and Thommo sees his possible reinstatement disintegrated.

Thommo said this in an article, I find it interesting that he mentioned the dressing room.

    ..........................................................................................

"He added: "I got suspended and I am still waiting for the reason why. I won’t be going back. There is no way. Leeds United is a big club, you don’t have to sell anybody the club’s history but no one treats me like that, especially when I have done nothing.

"You cannot work under those circumstances and how things in the dressing room were. There are many things that are not right at that club."

    ............................................................................................

All up, Redders and Thommo are the best of friends, they will support and defend each other, irrespective of the reason/s for Thommo's suspension, and most probably lie for each other. I've never known best friends to be a silent partnership.

There had to be a reason Thommo was suspended, something Thommo did, or didn't do obviously triggered the reason for the suspension.

Redders knows more than he's letting on imo.

Personally, I think it's best for the club and team they both won't be here next season.

What I also find interesting, is the way most fans have took to Rosler's and Pearson's appointments very quickly, thus putting the Redders and Thommo situation in the background to slowly fade away. Only a few fans, and the media seem to keep bringing it up to give it some air time.

Well Thompson confirmed he did nothing wrong yet you don't believe him, Bamba spoke out against Cellino and confirmed he undermines the manager and caused a dressing room rift and stated he would like to stay but doubts he will be offered a contract as he can't bite his tongue any longer over Cellino
http://www.90min.com/posts/2130707-sol-bamba-blasts-massimo-cellino-over-running-of-leeds-united but as it is against Cellino I do have to smile how you question the honesty of Thompson, after all Cellino is such an honest citizen lol

He helped make Redfearn more popular amongst the Leeds fans than Cellino was, and good old megalomaniacal Cellino couldn't stand that. Cellino likes the attention and the plaudits; he can't deal with it when the spotlight is on somebody else so he resorts to wild histrionics to put himself back in the picture.

I don't see why Thompson would lie. He's already risked his reputation by staying quiet for this long. Perhaps he genuinely did not know the real reason for his suspension? How could he defend himself initially when even he did not know the reasons for his suspension? Redfearn continually stated he didn't know why Thompson was suspended because maybe, just maybe - and I know this may be a shock to you - he didn't know either? You always assume Redfearn and Thompson are lying, and yet you back the man with a track record of dishonesty - criminal dishonesty at that - and duplicitous behaviour.

The club could have simply said in the letter that Thompson's performance was not up to standard. That's all they are legally required to say. Thompson, knowing that we've been on the back of an eight game unbeaten run that's all but assured our place in the league for another season, knows this is bullshit. He knows he's being forced out of the club and makes the decision not to make a huge fuss about it, hoping it won't upset Redfearn's or the team's rhythm. It's merely a theory, but no less plausible than the ones you continually come out with in your attempts to denigrate Redfearn and Thompson.

Of course Redfearn wanted to carry on, with or without Thompson: it's the Leeds United manager's job. Yes you can call him spineless for not sticking up for his best mate, but he wanted the job, you can't blame him for that. He knows if he gives the board an ultimatum - 'reinstate Thompson or I walk' - he'll be let go. What else can he do? Again, criticise him for not having the backbone to stand up to Cellino for his mate, but you can't demean him for simply wanting to remain in his job.

Assuming that phrases such as 'if I'm honest' and 'I can say with 100% accuracy' indicate lying is really scraping the barrel. You don't like Redfearn - we get it. The majority of us weren't particularly enamoured with his appointment but he kept us up in a season where I thought we were relegation certainties. Had either of Cellino's other magnificent appointments remained for the season, we would've been gone before Blackpool <doh>

Most fans have moved on because we know that Redders and Thommo were not brilliant, Mourinho-esque managers; they would not get us promoted, or winning trophies. We don't approve of the way Cellino treated them, or the way he's already treated Pearson, or the way he will continually treat and undermine his other employees. Until he learns to sit back, refrain from his attention-seeking habits and let the people he employes get on with the job they were paid to do, we will get nowhere.

    Kiwi, with respects,

Your dislike of Cellino is bordering on obsessive to the point you're making claims you have no proof of. Spotlight was on Redders cos Redders wasn't doing a good job as coach, I don't believe Thommo made Redders more popular with the fans, when Thommo got suspended Redders lost 5 matches, where was the spotlight other than it being shone on Redders by Redders.

What reputation did Thommo have? he wasn't a brilliant coach, he came from Hudders and was Redders best pal. I can see every reason why Thommo and Redders would lie, they're best friends, and best friends talk to each other. Redders was all praise for Cellino in the beginning, what happened over the course of his reign as coach, why did Redders slowly turn against Cellino?

Why didn't Thommo kick up a stink if he didn't know why he was being suspended? the majority of people would've.

It seems that your dislike of Cellino is spilling over to those who support him, namely me as one of'em going by how you wrote the above paragraph, that's fine but my opinions of Redders and Thommo are my opinions, same as yours are about Cellino. I go by a lot based on body language when it comes to individuals, and Redders body language is something he couldn't hide or cover up.

"Thommo didn't make a fuss because he didn't want it to upset the teams or Redders rhythm", yet Redders showed what he was all about before Thommo came in, and after Thommo got suspended, and the fans saw it. Sometimes things happen, good or bad that make people see things more clearly.

While you say I continually denigrate Redders, then your continual denigration of Cellino would be exactly same, wouldn't it?

Redders was more about Redders than his so called best friend Thommo, it's also been said Redders instigated getting rid of Naylor and Bromley from academy; if so, could it be them two were getting more recognition than Redders for the way they brought the youth on?

Redders was ousting Cellino signings in favour of his own academy boys and favourites, which imo was detrimental to team.

From what I read in an article not too long ago, Redders did give the board the ultimatum "reinstate Thommo if I'm to carry on as head coach"

Redders imo was playing the fans against Cellino, it worked for a while, but the owner had the last say and it backfired on Redders.

I don't scrape barrels, it's a lousy way of having a conversation or debate, I've explained what my opinions are based on in regards to Thommo and Redders.

You're right, I don't like Redders as our coach, I've always made it clear from the time I stopped supporting him but, you don't like Cellino either, does that make us even in that respect?

Wasn't Redders the one who took us to within 1 point of the relegation zone in first place? yes, when Thommo come in we managed to stay in championship, and that's all that happened. The football itself wasn't brilliant, we were scraping wins thanks to our defence and Silvestri, and we were hanging on for draws thanks to the same.

Hock and Darko had about 6 games each as coach, yet when Redders took over and was losing a lot of matches some fans were happy to give him a chance. What was so special about Redders at the time, he had a record worst than Hockadays, so why give Redders the chances after chances and Hock or Darko?

Had Hock or Darko kept us up, it would'v been no different to what Redders did any way. I'm not so sure about Darko, but I think Hock would've kept us up as well.

Does your above statement justify my not supporting Redfearn, and my opinions?

You obviously approve of the way Redders and Thommo were treating the Cellino signings then, the dressing room was split for a reason, and Redders and Thommo allowed it to stay split. Some players complained about the way they were being treated by Thommo and the way Redders treated Adryan was shamefull.

I've heard nothing about how Cellino has supposedly treated Pearson yet, I might have missed that one.

    In general,

There's always going to be divided opinions and views on our owner and coach, whoever they may be, and I'm sure there'll be some on Rosler and what he says and does in future. What differing opinions shouldn't be doing is turning posters on here against each other and slowly turning it into another ja606.

I've said it before, and I'll reiterate it, Elland and Co have done a good job of putting this forum together and keeping it friendly, so, irrespective of our likes and dislikes, our differing opinions and views, we should all remember that we all have differing opinions and should keep it on a friendly and respectfull level so as to keep this forum on the same level that Elland and Co intended it to be.

    Ristac, no malice,

Thommo claimed he did nothing wrong, he didn't confirm anything; the board claim otherwise. This is why things can get strewn out of proportion and causes problems between posters, it shouldn't be that way.

Bamba gave an opinion, he didn't confirm anything. Should any player in any team speak out against the owner, good or bad, then they risk the wrath.

I've never stated Cellino is an honest person, I support Cellino but have said his past is his past, not ours. Unlike some, I'm not going to single him out for abuse when there's thousands of other businessmen around the world, football club owners included who are doing what they can to avoid paying tax.

IMO, Cellino stands up for what he believes in, and is prepared to fight for what he believes in, when was the last time we had an owner like that?

I don't believe he is egotistical or a megalomaniac as some would claim, I do however think he is more along the lines of being a perfectionist, which is totally different from the former; and even perfectionists make mistakes, it's one of the ways they learn.

You're right, I do dislike Cellino. Intensely. How many broken promises will it take before he finally keeps one?

As for the spotlight comment, I was referring to the fact that there have been numerous reports (admittedly, they are only reports) suggesting that Cellino was annoyed that Redfearn didn't contact him after Thompson was hired. The team were doing well (admittedly not playing well, but with the dire squad we have, it's difficult to do so), we were picking up points, Redders and Thommo were getting the plaudits - and Cellino couldn't stand it.

I didn't mean Thompson had a great reputation in the game, a la Clement or whatever other assistant managers you can think of - I merely meant his reputation was tarnished as he was assumed to have verbally abused a superior.
What happened over the course of Redfearn's reign to turn him against Cellino? Oh, let me think... Refusal to sign any of his suggestions (did Cellino not realise how desperate we were for a natural wide player?), undermined him by sacking his assistant (rightly or wrongly, we are yet to know the full version of events), claiming responsibility for some of the success stories (he 'discovered' Charlie Taylor, first played by Simon Grayson in 2011 <doh> ), imploring Redfearn to use Cani (a player whose dire strike record is matched only by Steve Morison's!)... Need I go on?

Thompson may have, and probably did, go to the LMA for advice on what to do regarding his sacking - it's more than conceivable that they suggested he remain silent until they'd investigated his dismissal.

I assure you my dislike of Cellino wasn't supposed to spill over into a personal attack - I apologise if it sounded that way.
Redders clearly operated better with an assistant - what's wrong with that? If all managers were better without a number 2, assistants wouldn't exist.
I agree, I denigrate Cellino as much as you do with Redfearn, and that will always remain a difference of opinion unfortunately. My opinions on Cellino are based on his broken promises, continual histrionics, and criminal convictions.

'Redders is more about Redders than his so called best friend Thommo' - football is a cut-throat industry, every man for himself. Cellino has the same sort of personality, as do hundreds and thousands of people in the football industry. It's the mentality of a winner. I'm not saying Redfearn is a winner - far from it - but thinking about himself and not his assistant is perfectly fine with me.
Haven't read anything about Bromby and Naylor leaving due to Redfearn, so I can't comment on that.
'Redders was ousting Cellino signings in favour of his own academy boys and favourites' - Cellino himself said that he dreamt of a Leeds team full of academy products, admitted that he signed the wrong players last summer, claimed that Cook and Mowatt were 51% of our season: clearly he supports the usage of the academy products over his signings.
Haven't read anything about Redfearn's board ultimatum either, but if that's true than surely that implies that they wanted to keep him around?

I've continually made the point that I am not a huge Redfearn supporter. I knew he wasn't the answer, but Cellino is no saint.
Yes, Redfearn did take us to within 1 point of the relegation zone - by blindly placing his faith in the Cellino signings and that absurd diamond formation. He deserves as much blame as Cellino for that one, without a doubt. Notice that as soon as he dropped the foreigners, brought in Thompson, reinstated his 'favourites' along with the academy products, we went on a run that secured our place in the league. The football was never great, but look at our squad. It's appalling. It's unbalanced. The majority of the players were in their first or second Championship season. The football was just as poor under Hockaday and Darko - the only constant there is the poor playing squad.

Redders didn't have a worse record than Hockaday - the man lost 67% of his games, and one of the ones he did win was against Accrington Stanley <doh> I'm afraid we'll have to agree to disagree on Hockaday, I thought it was the worst appointment I can recall in football. I agree Redders probably had a bit of leeway with the fans due to his popularity from his work with the academy.

'Does your above statement justify my not supporting Redfearn, and my opinions?' - Not when you don't use my full quote, it doesn't.

I don't necessarily approve of the way Redders and Thommo were treating the players - I don't know the full ins and outs of the story - but if it was merely dropping players who were under-performing in favour of proven Championship players, I have no issue with that. If the players threw tantrums and split the dressing room, that's their problem. Only Cellino can threaten them with the transfer list or discipline them. If Rosler comes in and picks the same players Redfearn did, we'll see another dressing room split because those not in the team will throw tantrums. That's more to do with their poor personalities than it is to do with the head coach.
To be quite blunt, Adryan is ****. There's talent in there somewhere, but in a relegation battle he was a luxury we could not afford. Cellino's supposedly his biggest fan, and even he baulked at the asking price.

Re Pearson, I was referring to the whole Steve Head fiasco - I won't expand on that as I think I've already made my opinions on that one clear.

I don't have any issue with you personally - we're both Leeds fans and we both want the best for the club. If Cellino stopped acting like a baby, upheld his promises, and started acting with the professionalism and decorum of a Pearson, I would gain respect for him. Unfortunately, I have not seen anything to suggest he knows what he's doing. Hopefully that'll change this year; I would love nothing more than to be proven wrong, but his track record suggests he will continue to perpetuate this never-ending cycle of egotism, histrionics, and trigger-happiness.

Lets hope and pray that MC is exactly what I think he is a good business man who admits to making mistakes but has the strength of character to say hey I messed up last season big time its time to look back and right the wrongs I committed last season
So what's he done about it
1 He's brought Adam Pearson in a well respected figure in football
2he's got rid of Redfearn who is so average he will be lucky to get another appointment as a manager. If Thompson felt so aggrieved about his sacking why as it taken him so long to tell his side of the story. He was not the first team no2 at Town either.he has replaced Redfearn with Rosler who has had more experience and was unlucky in his last post with injuries to key players
He is about to replace Salerno with someone who has got experience with getting players who can cope with the expectations at ER and have the right experience to improve the team
He is about to replace the goalkeeping coach and this comes not a moment to soon Silvestri hopefully will be all the better for this
So lets see what the future brings but my moneys still on MC Ristac please note for future referencesI do not sit on the fence!

I didn't take anything personal Kiwi, we have good conversations, debates, arguments, fights, scraps and fisticuffs..... :emoticon-0105-wink:

We're all passionate fans on here but thing is, we, me included, sometimes tend to write with passion and feelings and we can get carried away with those feelings, which is why I try to use the emoticons to show there's no malice.

    Go Cellino...:emoticon-0105-wink:
