Hello all. Ak, thanks for all the tea. Because my youngest will be 18 in January, I've been having a think about various aspects of my life - let's just say that some people are in for a surprise at changes I'm planning on making.
Ok. Use .wav format. This doesn't compress what it is copying, which is what .mp3 does. There are other formats but use a more common one. Also keep your CDs if you can. It is always best to have the original. All my music is stored somewhere away from Mrs NZ so she doesn't complain about the space it takes up. I also copied a lot of her horrible 80s sync pop music to keep her happy Now all my music is on the hard drive of an old computer (don't need something new for this) which is connected to the hi fi. I can listen to Steve Reich or Quintessence whenever I like with a click of a mouse, and she can listen to the Thompson Twins or Dali's Car
Thanks NZ I remember seeing quintessence in 1970/1 I used to really like them! Still have several of their albums...
NZ make sure you have backups of that old computer's hard drive, you can get externals hard drives for peanuts nowadays and trust me it's worth it. Even online storage is cheap and a much better idea. I've lost a lot of music in the past...
Sæl öll. Cappuccino, coffee, tea donuts and fruit are on the bar. I am here as I thought of a good question for the pub quiz. To remind you mankinis and buttless chaps are banned from here, and football jerseys from the team up the road.
Good afternoon everyone. Settling down for the afternoon entertainment... cricket in one ear, switching Saracens take on Bath at the rugby followed by Arsenal v Villa. Naturally I am hoping for a North London double victory.
A terrific performance from Saracens in the first half, a decent comeback from Bath in the second but 28-16 a thoroughly deserved win.
I can assure you that they weren't changes I'd even thought of. The tea is very much appreciated today as it's wet here and I have to leave in about an hour to go to play softball. I must admit that compared to one of my team mates I'm lucky only to have the softball match as she's taking part in the Race for Life first.
16 years ago today Were you there? I was parked on a dual carriageway outside York listening to it with Mme and Mlle asleep in the car as we drove back from Whitby...
It was already the 1st June for me - I listened to it via the internet in Oz whilst trying to put the finishing touches to a Uni assignment...
It was my boys 1st time at wembley then years later he painted the arch now soon we will take his son to the vic
Yes I agree. You should copy at highest quality possible, especially if you are playing back through a decent hi fi. I would hide my CDs in the loft once done so you always have them. FLAC seems to be touted as lossless, I don't know of any other Widows lossless formats.
And while OFH was in Corsica we were in Crete. Warm but very windy, often gale force where we were staying in Kolymbari. Strangely when you went inland to the mountains & gorges it was quite still. Bagged 3 new gorges and the May wild flowers were great. Visited our favourite restaurants and met a few friends. Now back to the continuing UK winter, I wish this cold wind would go away!
