Australia voted against Blatter but our octagenarian billionaire head of Aus football has already said a boycott by Aus would "not help Australian football".
Sportscenter said something about a meeting in South America that was supposed to happen today but apparently didn't as a bunch of people had gone into hiding as they thought if they showed up the police would be waiting for them.
It wouldn't, but neither would the England's, Germany's etc. I think if we were to boycott Australia would be better off joining. A boring contest against **** teams like Trinidad and tobago/Spain etc isn't exactly gong to capture the imagination of new fans but standing up for what's right and taking a hard stance just might.
Platini voted for Qatar and shortly afterwards his son was given a high paid job with the Qatari government. He's not to be trusted.
Its just a waiting game now. The FBI won't give up, or be bought off. The SFO are on it now too. Plus the Swiss of course. The clocks counting down, karma is going to kick a lot of FIFA arses finally.
Anyone remember Juan Antonio Samaranch? He took over the reins of the Olympic Games which was, at the time, failing miserably financially and it's future was in doubt. Samaranch turned it round with sponsorship deals but became a law unto himself (like Blatter imo). From his wiki: Also during his tenure as IOC president, Samaranch insisted that he be addressed with the title of "Excellency", a title used for heads of state and government. In addition, when he traveled to conduct Olympic business, he would insist on a chauffeured limousine as well as a presidential suite in the finest hotel of whatever city he visited. The IOC put an annual rental (at a cost of US$500,000 per year) at a presidential suite for his stays in Lausanne, Switzerland, where the IOC headquarters are located.[14] Allegations of corruption Besides his lavish accommodations, he was increasingly criticized for the judging and doping scandals and rampant corruption that occurred under his watch. A closed-door inquiry later expelled several IOC members for accepting bribes but cleared Samaranch of wrongdoing. Samaranch declared that the IOC's worst crisis was over but a group of former Olympic athletes, led by Mark Tewksbury, continued to push for his removal. There were allegations of vote buying in Salt Lake City, Utah's successful bid for the 2002 Winter Olympics. The scandal exposed runaway corruption within the IOC. End quote: Blatter has got the presidency by the b@lls and he will designate who follows him through the power of the people that voted for him. There will be more to come about this and more than one delegate will be cr@pping their pants - the FBI don't mess around. Could spell the end of the World Cup in it's current form if Platini talks Europe into pulling out.
A bit like the European Union, certain countries funding everything but tin pot little countries taking and having an equal say. If FIFA didn't have the money from the European countries they wouldn't be able to dish out money to places in order to buy votes.
I still find it amazing that he didn't resign even if and it is a massive IF he didn't know about the corruption, the very least he could have done was resign. Yesterday was like something from Disney and his SMARMY nature (god he has a punchable face) but his pure contempt for football he has is incredible. We as UEAFA should pull every rug we have from underneath him. I don't think it will happen though.
There is an opportunity for every member country of UEFA to carry out their own internal audit. I believe that our FA should suspend any further business, including international games, until they have done a thorough investigation into how they might be implicated in either of the two core investigations by the USA and the Swiss. There must be more to come and we should prepare for that, as this must be dealt with once and for all. There is a huge opportunity to reform football, it's governance and it's sporting and social integrity. We must start with the FA; halt international tournament participation, review our internal structures and systems and look at changing the relationship with the Premier League.. We could start at Hull City AFC by not supporting an owner who lies, cheats and manipulates when he likes.
He (Blatter) was right pissed off at the end I reckon. Ohh so it is UEAFA's fault then? ya couldn't make it up could ya.
Apart from Greg Dyke we've heard very little from the European FA heads. I've got no belief UEFA will do anything much.
Why would we hear loads from other Heads? As I said before, the UEFA meeting is next Saturday, don't expect to hear much until then.
Blatter was basically laughing in peoples faces with that speech He knows he is untouchable and he will still be there in 4 years time. People will have forgotten about all this in a years time and just go back to watching the WC qualifiers. Football really is an untouchable sport. What other job could you be in where you can sign a 6 year contract , get sacked after a year and still get all of your money. Then get another job. Morals in football don't exist it's just the public who pay out the money then get two fingers up to them
