Aroma Chinese restaurant in Hull closed over 'risk to public health'

THE Aroma Chinese restaurant in Beverley Road has been closed down by Hull City Council because of concerns for public health and safety.

The restaurant was served with a hygiene emergency prohibition notice yesterday following a routine inspection conducted by environmental health officers.

Employees were in the middle of a busy evening service when the restaurant was closed and customers were asked to leave.

Paul Turner, principal environmental health officer, said an "emergency closure of the premises" was required, as it was deemed "an immediate risk to public health."

The restaurant will remain closed until further notice. A court hearing will be held at Hull Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, June 2.

    I'd heard aroma about that...

Be interesting to hear what the problem was.

Places can fail inspections on paperwork, not just actual dead stuff in the sinks and gutters with cockroaches crawling over everything, which is the usual expectation of the public in these cases.

I'm not saying its not a hygiene issue btw, it could very well be, but I wish they'd state why.

It's was closed due to being 'an immediate risk to public health' and the owner is up in court on Monday, I'd say it was fairly obvious it's not a problem with his paperwork.

    I did say that...

Why can't they come out and state the reason?

If you were up in court on a charge, it wouldnt be "OLM is in court on Monday charged with somethingsomethingsomething" would it?

Never been in myself but true story.
Its all you can eat or it was but you order a few dishes eat them and order some more, eat them and etc etc

My mates brother in law and his mrs. Both right fat ****ers went there a few years ago. After two hours of constant trenching the waitress gave them their bill to pay and asked them to leave. Being greedy gits they refused and wanted to carry on eating. In the end it got a bit nasty and the chefs came out of the kitchen with meat cleavers in hand to get rid.

They wanted to sue Aroma for misselling all you can eat <laugh>

It'll have been 2 dead pigeons in the water tank and then the waiter's Siberian hamster will have escaped and run amok.

Then the hygeine inspector will have asked for cheese and biscuits.

That's usually the way with these things.

I saw a documentary on it once.

They're strict as ****. If you order a dish and you don't clear the plate, they'll charge you extra for it.

Anyway, I'm just leaving work and this thread has twisted me arm to order a Chinese.

Man Wah house Cott rd, good old fashioned Chinkie and they deliver <ok> I do miss proper pancake rolls though. The big fat ones that dripped grease, not the poncey spring roll ****e you get these days.

We go to Sunlight, just over County Rd. Big portions. Cracking chicken curry. They do the old school proper pancake rolls to Kemps.

I'm not that arsed about Chinese but i do still love Hot n Sour Soup

I think a lot of failures occur when raw meat and cooked meat are stored in the same fridge or freezer, or there's evidence of them being prepared on the same chopping board.

Also when food is not dated.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's something like that, perhaps with a little uncleanliness thrown in too.
