    Can't believe i just read through this whole thread. But my disdain for Rafa made me do so. Anyway onto the take home points on this discussion. Why the hell are Real hiring Rafa. Rafa hasn't done anything of note in years (last proper thing he won was 2005 Champs League, maybe Chelsea Europa). If you want a manager who is mourinho lite in tactics and is a proven cup manager, go for Rafa. One thing he will do is struggle in the league with his negative rigid tactics.

    Onto the other man, Van Gaal, this guy is basically Rafa too with his pass it at the back possession rigid formations and boring game tactics with the occasional lump it to felleini.

    In summary, both are dinosaurs who were once pretty decent managers/bordering on great (Van gaal are Barca and Ajax) and Rafa at Liverpool season 1 and Valencia. Now they are both past it, haven't moved on with the times and are basically Kenny Dalglishes.

    Rafa is widely respected by the people that do the hiring at clubs. It's only united fans that don't have any respect for him
