"Everyone's invited. No RSVP required" is one of the @2017Hull straplines. It sounds like there's some good ideas, a one stop shop for tickets/event information in the city centre, 4,000 volunteers being recruited, lots of events already in the planning. Good stuff.
No idea how Radio 1's Big Weekend works, or how far in advance it's planned, or if regions have to apply for it, but 2017 has absolutely got to be the year Hull gets it.
There was a facebook thingy a few weeks back that was trying to get support for this to be held in HUll in 2017.
