Tickles is your man - it will probably involve some form of initiation ceremony, but you'll be privy to some confidential info.
Alex Bruce started 17 times this season and was substituted 5 times. http://www.premierinsider.co.uk/alex-bruce_5154/
I had a glance at this when Fez posed the question this morning, it's easy enough to see when he came on and off, but it's not easy to find out the reason, unless you just guess based on who replaced him(unless it was the result oof a really bad tackle or something, the match report doesn't usually mention why a player has gone off). There were two games where he went off on 45 minutes, assuming that he was subbed at half time, I suspect they were both injuries(I think he was replaced by Macca in both, in at least two he was replaced by Aluko, so they were more likely to be tactical.
I remember back in the championship he was taken off more times then I thought a centre back should be. It may be unjustified but it was the impression I got.
Yes, and he will have learned from that. Worse than useless? He was taking up a place that I could have filled! I doubt I could have done worse with his chance against Man Utd.
With getting rid of Rosenior and McShane it looks like we are lining up injury excuses for next season. Getting rid of options at the back is one way of doing it. Next the excuse for not scoring goals: get rid of jelavic and sign some random "striker".
I think a possible difference could be wages. When you pick the team the wages don't matter. When you decide whether to release somebody wages do matter. Having said that, I don't think the wages of Alex Bruce, Rosenior or McShane would be enough to chose to release them given their attitude. I wonder whether Quinn will chose to stay. He always gets substituted even when he's our best player. I suppose the argument is that he tires himself out after 70 minutes. I fully expect the club to be scrambling around in the last few hours of the transfer window trying to cancel out stupid decisions.
I assume McShane was on more than Bruce, but I don't think their reduced terms would have been massively different. I don't think McShane's release has got anything to do with wages, it's down to the fall-out with Bruce in November.
McShane didn't want reduced terms. He didn't want them when his last contract expired. He was fortunate that this expiry coincided with our promotion.
McShane is being released, he didn't want to leave. bollox Bruce has already signed a new two year deal. Jnr? Quinn is being offered a new deal, but has already rejected one offer(he's away on holiday at the moment). hope he signs.. Sagbo, Figgy and Harper have also been released. good, good and not so clever.. No news on Dudgeon and Oxley yet, but I expect them to also be released. whatever happened to Dudge? He came in under Nige.. So, in summary, it looks like everyone is being released, except for Bruce and possibly Quinn I'm sweating on Chessie, he's my fav player.. Brady will be a popular choice with PL teams..
