I really don't know what to think. Every time we have been in the Premiership I have thought , every season, that we would be relegated until the season before last when I was convinced we would survive!! This time I think we will survive and that worries me!! I think we will be the best equipped to survive of the 3 Clubs going up and potentially at least one other Club will be in trouble. Which one depends upon the close season dealings. If, for example, Villa lose Benteke and Vlaar and Lerner doesn't get his wallet out then they could be in trouble. Real fears? Many!! Such as? Arsenal absolutely tore us apart last time and now have Sanchez in their squad for starters!! I genuinely believe we will stay up but would take 4th from bottom now if it was offered.
I think the problem was back in 2012/13 it was a very deceiving season, survival wasn't safe until we played a West Brom team who were at the beach and Man City team who had already won their Champions League spot, we had a bit of a lucky escape, the signings that summer gave us all a sense of false security, but things became a lot more evident when we were struggling to put away teams like Cardiff, Villa and Fulham.
I have confidence that we'll be a more entertaining team next season and we'll go into games with a plan to score / win, not just protect and defend. I predict that with AN being an unknown in the PL combined with his attacking intent, we could get off to a reasonable start and that could be enough to get us over the line this season. Whether that ultimately means we survive or not I don't know but I'm not so concerned either. If over the next 1,2 or 3 seasons we come down again, i'll not be down about it. I'd take a few relegations and the excitement of promotions any day over 5 years of just simply "surviving" in bottom half PL obscurity. Genuine thought, in terms of the teams' activities over the past 5 years, taking your yellow tinted specs off for a moment, who would you rather support Norwich or Villa/Sunderland/other bottom half PL stalwart? A couple of cup finals potentially but that really is it!
Good on him. To silence that Suffolk plank with a great comeback was class. He has gone up in my estimation for that.
