No one has mentioned the FIFA raid. A great day, I feel as if Celtic have won the Champions League. Hopefully rendition flights and waterboarding will soon follow, it's the least these ****ing arseholes deserve.
Well obviously I'd prefer if Celtic had won the CL but as that's unlikely I go with what we've got. I love the thought of these ****s - who are used to 1st class travel, 5 star hotels and chauffeur driven Limos - spending hard time in the Pen.
I am sure there is a perfectly innocent explanation for this. We shouldn't be too hasty to jump to conclusions.
On December 12, 2014, the defendant José Hawilla, the owner and founder of the Traffic Group, the Brazilian sports marketing conglomerate, waived indictment and pled guilty to a four-count information charging him with racketeering conspiracy, wire fraud conspiracy, money laundering conspiracy, and obstruction of justice. Hawilla also agreed to forfeit over $151 million, $25 million of which was paid at the time of his plea.
Platini reckons more or less every UEFA country is voting for Prince Ali. That's nice - FIFA could have a whole new world
Will it matter though Dan, even though UEFA have the most power and money they get stitched up by the Banana republics every time.
Wouldn't be so sure this time Dev. Though I think Putin may have swung it with his comments about US interference. That will play well to the Latins and Caribbeans. Never know with Africa but when I was doing international work we always managed to threaten, sorry, encourage, the French and Commonwealth ones to side with the EU and am sure UEFA is doing that right now.
http://www.quora.com/What-would-the-implications-be-if-UEFA-decides-to-leave-FIFA Basically it'll be mutually assured destruction of the most popular sport on the planet. All because some of some greedy criminal pensioners.
I've heard people complain about the Yanks hypocrisy, personally I don't care if Satan himself investigates, as long as these corrupt ****ing Dinosaurs get what they deserve.
I think the hypocrisy angle is more to do with the fact the Yanks didn't gie a **** about fitba until it cost them face and money. Their pious attitude as if they are somehow cleaning up corruption, while the NFL staggers from murder scandal to child abuse scandal to cheating scandal.
And Nike - "we believe in fair play on and off the field". How many drug cheats have they given shoe deals to?
