Who said anything about a pay rise? I suggested a new contract on a similar wage but with promotion bonuses built in and a virtually guaranteed move to a PL club next summer if we don't go up.
He wasn't playing because he was injured/not playing well enough, he's played his best football since he came back into the team. Save your 'daft' comments, I learnt from talking to you before
When have we talked before? Might be confusing me for someone else.. McShane was playing well whenever he played last season and has played well whenever he has played this season.
Last reply to you ever, he played well since he came back into the team, before that he upset the applecart and thats why his new contract offer didn't come. Have a nice life
McShane hasn't been injured all season, he was a regular at the start of the season, but was dropped after the game at Burnley away, which was ironic as he was our MotM in that game. It was because he was out of favour in Nov/Dec that he wasn't included in the list of players that were offered a new deal.
Fair enough he wasn't injured all season, just part of it. That Aussie ****wit has tried to get a rise out of me before, I agree he was unfairly left out after the Burnley game and kicked off afterwards probably rightly
Do you think he would accept an extension on his current terms just after we have been relegated? I'm not convinced he would.
I actually saw Mcshane outside the ground think it was at the Swansea match Christmas time, felt a bit sorry for him, was training with the kids then. I'd like to have seen him stay but it is funny how people are revising their views on him like that Aussie numpty, he wasn't that highly thought of until his efforts recently and now he is, rightly too, please don't tell me at the start of the season people were thinking the same of him as what they do now, total bullshit.
I don't see why not, especially as he's said he's up for the fight of getting us back up. If he was keen to leave then he'd probably not sign on but there doesn't seem an indication of that.
There seems to be a few too many cock ups regarding unsigned/unrenewed contracts of late, Chezzy should have been signed up months ago ffs! I'm truly beginning to wonder if this really is a case of the fish rotting from the head down! Hopefully not, but if we start to lose our best players such as Chezzy I'm not really 100% confident that Steve Bruce has what it take to go and find suitable replacements, let's face it his track record of signings ain't that great.
Everyone has loved him for a number of years.. you're just making yourself out to be a grade A moron now. People were pissed when he and Bruce had a falling out in November when he was supposedly playing crap by your standards. Do you not remember him retweeting countless people upset at the prospect of him being sold in January?
Staggeringly as of McShane and Rosenior leaving, Chester is the last remaining player not signed by Bruce. (Brady was innacurately included in this but he was only a loan signing before Bruce made it permanent)
He has an eye for CBs at least, but I agree. Just crazy at how much our squad constantly turns over because our signings are so hit and miss.
If we don't then, for me anyway, that's going to be the real beginning of the **** hitting the fan, with no one at the club capable enough to clean it up properly!
Am just hoping with Mcshane and probably Davies going that means Chester/Daws will be the two mainstays, would have kept Mcshane in an ideal world but events have gone another way. Maguire has looked decent so maybe all is not lost...
I definitely remember going to Lokeren and everyone singing Don't Sell McShane. Also the FA Cup final and semi, the game when he went off badly injured against Southampton at home last season, to a rousing chorus, etc. He actually became a cult hero figure during the promotion season.
He's always been a kind of cult hero, but when we started the season nobody would have predicted Davies going the way he has so that elevated Mcshane recently, also Maguire going out on loan. He should have got an offer but that has got to be as much down to General Allam than Bruce, seeing as Bruce has been picking him for the last few months.
