I don't think it does. IMO, it shows a lack of respect and loyalty (a word you love ) and suggests he is in no way a team player. It tells me he can be your best friend one day and **** in your mouth the next. It tells me he can't be trusted even in the low morale world of professional football.

There are ways and means of getting a transfer and he did it in completely the wrong way.

 

I agree but there's a difference between a player showing he wants to play for LFC, and the professionalism he shows in getting that move.

He did show he wanted to play for LFC by going to such lengths. He's a nob for how we went about it.

 

And as a result of how he went about it, I have no doubt he'd do the same to us if a bigger and better offer came along. If true, it wasn't wanting to play for Liverpool, it was because something bigger and better came along.

 

I agree but most talented players now see Liverpool as a stepping stone. I don't want players thinking that they've made it because they're at Liverpool, which I sense from certain players. I want players who think they're better than this club and can go onto play for clubs like Barca and Real. Until we get back to the top level, these are players we need.

In the case of Lovren, he was just simply deluded.

 

I understand that and accept it (for now) as I did with Suarez; he made it public knowledge before and shortly after joining us that he wanted to play for Barca or Real and was using us to get there. I have no issue with this so long as they put the effort in and give something in return for that club providing that chance. That means playing well for at least a couple of seasons, not one decent season after being rescued from a disaster at Lyon

 

Lovren knew he was never going to get a better chance at the big time as he'd basically had a few good months in amongst 3 years of ****e.

You were chasing him for big money and it was his opportunity to grab the winning Lotto ticket, and he did, who can blame him? We'd all do the same in fairness.
