Can you please provide a link? I thought he halved his salary until we were sorted financially along with a number of other players.
It was Kilbane who halved his salary - but extended his contract. McShane & others agreed to defer payment of his premier league salary for cash flow reasons but recouped every single penny of it subsequently. Thank goodness we've got Allam in charge this time round who has ensured that proper business oriented contracts have been signed that protect the club financially and that we are not at the mercy of the players (eg. Bullard et al).
I think all the comments about this simply being about cost cutting will be proven wrong, as I absolutely believe we'll sign another right back to replace him. In fact, the rumour is we're after Daniel Wass, one of Sagbo's old teammates from Evian.
Not sure if it's been covered on here, I may have missed it, but HDM now reporting Alex signed up weeks ago....
Bollocks. We're doing the same thing we did last time. Discarding the players we'd love to keep and having to keep hold of the **** we don't want because they're all under contract.
So he more than halved his salary until we were financially stable then. The verdict on Allam's ownership will be given when he leaves and we see what position we are in. The first contracts issued after Bartlett were Adam Pearson's work. Allam is just continuing his example. Although whether we will be at the mercy of some players will depend on how much they'll earn after the relegation reductions kick in and whether they like it here and stay.
Not bothering to read all the other posts on here as everyone is probably blaming Allam for this decision but he had the chance to sign a new contract in January but he turned it down. If he wanted to stay then he had a chance. Elmo never misses a game and is a much better player. We don't need Rosenior. Free up his wages for someone else. Good decision SB.
Nobody blamed Allam. Rosenior will be replaced with another right back, he'll have to be a good one, or the poor lad will get major grief.
I'd expect nothing less from Rosie, he's been one of the best for us and I'm still struggling to come to terms with the fact that the club seem to think that they can replace his utility flexibility easily, it's either that or we're in a financial hole so large that his wages make all the difference.
I'm sure it's a wages factor! If you've got someone who's not playing & you're cutting costs then I'll trust Bruce's judgement.
I'm not buying your bloody cauliflower; just how much do you think Rosie would earn? No need to be precise, but in general terms it would have been a very realistic championship wage. What makes you believe we will end up paying less? Day by day, Steve Bruce is becoming a bigger (sic) puppet than Mooney. I have lost a great deal of respect for Steve Bruce and it is a pity he has implicated his son in this total ****ing shambles.
Did you not hear the Man Utd fans singing about George Best. Pretty sure he doesn't play for them these days
