Friend was in the Championship team of the season and Brady might not be better than we have, but he'll provide competition given that he's played left back, left wing back, left wing and striker for Hull. The left wing back role is one we'll certainly need to strengthen.

I would like a more direct replacement for Konchesky then another wing back. Friend didnt impress me in the play offs and i think we could do better. Tyrone Mings looked decent everytime i seen him play but he reminds me a centre half doing a job at left back

Some more quotes from Nigel Pearson on Marc Albrighton that he made today

He has had an up-and-down season, there is no doubt about that," said Pearson. "I think he would be the first to agree with that.

"He had limited opportunities because our other wide men (Jeff Schlupp and Riyad Mahrez), at the time we were playing with wingers, were our best players.

"When he did have them he didn't really take them, but he has certainly taken it now. Playing as a wing-back, he has proved he can do both sides of the job very well. He takes an awful lot of credit for that.

"It took a while for his Leicester career to get up and running but he, along with every other player, I think recognised that if they are in the team they have to do well to stay there.

"If they are not they have to do really well to force their way in.

Proud ... your loyalty to Nigel is commendable but he is human <laugh> ... I can understand Wellers frustration because I too could not understand the selections of Simpson and Konchesky ... and indeed Wes during the time he was having an absolute mare ... Huth's arrival and the move to a back 3 transformed Wes ... but this worked because it forced a change of full-backs to wing-backs and the emphasis to going for games to get all 3 points (**** or bust at that stage ... something that quite a few of us on here had been pleading with the management to do for what had seemed far too long ...

As it is now - Albrighton and Schlupp must now be two of the first names on our team sheet ... and sure fire inclusions in many a fantasy football team <laugh>

Now I wouldn't disagree that Albrighton is the best crosser of a ball at the club ... but it is also worth reflecting on how many chances Schlupp has created this season bombing down that left hand side ... ...

Fosse - serious question - are you Schlupps agent?

<laugh> no buddy ... unfortunately not cos his star (and transfer value) is certainly rising ... just always felt that he had incredible 'raw potential' .. (and that bloke Ferguson who used to manage in the north-west seems to know a thing about footie too <laugh>) ... have loved watching him 'grow' this season ....

... think about his first touch when coming on against Everton, blasting high and wide ... but what I love about him is that even when he makes a rick ... he just shrugs it off and gets on with it ... he has been phenomenal and has the beating of every full-back in the Prem with his pure speed ... can't wait to see him doing that next season too ... very exciting prospect ... remember how we used to feel when Lenny Glover got the ball? .. reminds me of that .... very different player of course but the end result is the by-line and a cross .... and with a 'proper' centre forward like Ulloa ...

There's no real mystery around Schlupp & Albrighton vs. Simpson/De Laet & Konch. Schlupp as part of a back four was ripped to pieces against West Brom and West Ham, and I dare say it would be a similar story with Albrighton - no true reflection on either player as both are really attack-minded. As I said earlier in this thread, the option of playing attacking wing backs only came about when we were able to play three at the back. With Upson injured and Moore looking out of his depth, this was only possible when we signed Huth (coincidentally, Upson became an option at the same time). That tough run of away games saw Pearson change to a back five, and, understandably, he started with a defensive back five with Simpson and Konch, but switched to a more attack minded approach with De Laet and Schlupp against Hull. De Laet eventually gave way to Albrighton when it was discovered he could do a job in that role, as he had practically no chance of getting in ahead of Mahrez in midfield, and we stopped playing wingers anyway. No conspiracy, no mistakes, just natural evolution of the side as the season progressed.

Agree - he has come on leaps and bounds, but he wasted a couple of opportunities against the dramas by shooting instead of drilling it across. Still growing and learning. Arsenal reported to be watching him now. More Mike Stringfellow than Len Glover I would have thought.

Arsenal reportedly have made a £5m bid ... trust we have told them to come back with at least a 1 in front of that <laugh> ... and even then I wouldn't be selling him ... just think how good he will be in a couple of years time ...

I take it you mean me? and no I can't understand why he wasn't given his chance earlier. I don't buy into the "not looking good in training" crap - he surely didn't look rubbish for 15+ weeks and then suddenly become good. Officially Kennedy was shot by a single gunman working alone - I don't believe that either!

GFT, Gallagher? Apologies if they are out of contract. Even though I am biased I think Wood is worth keeping if only to push the academy boys, would love one of them to come through.

Schlupp is raw potential. He is frustrating for sure. Great one moment and the next looking terrible .
Big season for him coming up

... don't get some of the negativity on Jeff ... no surprise to me that the big boys are starting to sniff around ... and his form this season is right up there with our key survival facts ...

Both out of contract. We have Ulloa, Vardy, Kramaric and Nugent already plus we looking for another striker so we dont need Wood, he wont want to sit around doing nothing and its unfair on him to keep him knowing their is no chance of him ever playing

Jeff has looked a lot more at home in the Premier League then the championship, without doubt he is the surprise star of the season

One thing which he has improved massively on is his intelligence on the pitch, he just needs to gets some composure in front of goal
