So according to the Grauniad, there's a shortlist of four which - embarrassingly and obviously - contains Carver, alongside such luminaries as Garde, McLaren and Laudrup. The same rag also claims to have the inside track and that the club will "take it's time". Apparently the club aren't going to be ‘rushed’ and are comfortable with simply having the new Newcastle Manager/Head Coach in position to coincide with the players being back for pre-season training in early July....

Which leads me to the question - do you think there's going to be a new Head Coach before the players come back, or not.

I saw Hoddle's odds got slashed last night. He can **** right off the edges of ****dom.

The crowning of the new king Carver will happen on Monday. All hail our new Goblin Overlord and bow to his ****ness!

I was stunned reading that article...they needed time in January ...they have had 6 bloody months to sort their targets out since then and should have spoken to them before that, and due to our collapse to relegation potential, kept in contact and immediatley followed up on Sunday evening after PL survival was confirmed to get on with the MOST important job the board have...How the hell/why do they need 'more time/not be rushed' AGAIN!

They really don't have a clue what they are doing and are simply making it up as they go along ..

In the words of Mr Lydon..Ever get the feeling you have been cheated

They have no targets in mind. Charnley has been sitting on his fat arse doing **** all.
We'll get Carver and a bunch of cheap signings and next season will just be a repeat.

Quite simply if Carver is the manager then Mike has lied.
I personally think we WILL have a new manager and that it won't be Carver.
Not sure who will be in the hot seat but I think it may be SM.
I think the club know JC is useless and to save face (which they like to do) they are keeping him in the running.. for now....

If we appoint Carver then Ashley can **** off even more than I already want him to **** off. If they appoint someone decent then I will want Ashley to **** off...but less than with Carver. If we appoint someone decent and spend money on good players and improve next season then Ashley will just be a **** who is like that boil on your arse that won't go away. If not, he's that lump of **** that you simply cannot shift no matter how much you wiggle.

It will be Carver. Either that or McClaren or Hoddle. Those will probably be the only two ****s willing to come in and work with the triple threat of ****ness of Carver, Woodman and Stone. The trio almost sound like a **** 70's supergroup no ****er would ever listen to.

The situation almost makes one want to **** out white hot razor blades in hatred and frustration.

Carver, Woodman and Stone - Not exactly Emerson, Lake and Palmer, but appropriate for Mike Ashley and Lee Charnley. Can imagine them doing a karaoke at the Christmas Party - 'You Still Turn Me On.'

You lot crack me up, you really do ! Some top quality material there !

Carver to stay with £100m on players is an interesting take on the situation. Akin to me giving my kids £1000 each and telling them to go out and buy anything they want with it.

    1. They've never had that much money in their lives given to them, which leads to.....
    2. Their faces lighting up and thinking woo hoo gerrin.....I can't believe I've got this much money to spend, this then leads to......
    3. Running around like headless chickens trying to spunk the lot on stuff just for the sake of it cos they've got the money, which ultimately results in ......
    4. Coming home with a load of ****e (and no money left) which is simply just newer ****e than the old ****e they previously had which will either have to be given away or sold for peanuts to accommodate the new ****e.

This was actually starting to sound familiar up until point 4. No way on earth would we even consider buying new ****e before we'd sold the old ****e first.

If they are taking their time again?? What happened after Carver got the gig? Did you stop looking. Cos by your words you did!! Does that mean it was always your intention, after a reasonable end the season, Carver would assume the position of head coach. You would say, how impressed you were with John after inheriting the team after a difficult period after Pardew resigned. etc. But now you say you are looking again. That means that you stopped! You were ready to annoint Carver as Head Coach! I think that you might wait a bit longer, until it is too late. you will say that none of the candidates interviewed fitted the profile you wanted. You will appoint Carver on a 2 year deal and ask the fans to get behind the new coach. Nothing will change I think.. Just give up, that what I feel like doing!

I never said this would happen as everyone knows it won’t, I was however just strenuously making a point at no matter under any circumstance would I want a Carver appointment!

I really don't think Carver's going to get the job. It's so obvious that there would be a riot in Newcastle and that next season would be a disaster. Carver hasn't got the gift of the gab to the extent he could talk his way around such an atrocious record, Joe Kinnear might have managed it but I don't think Carver is in his league when it comes to bluster and lies.

No, we'll get a new manager, but the issue is more who it'll be. The Guardian article only says those 4 are included on the shortlist, not that they're the only ones.

They'll make him sweat, they'll make all the fans gullible enough to think we will ever compete for champions league with Ashley sweat, but John Carver it is, always was, always will be, until another club offers him more money <laugh>

It's absolute bullshit a premier league team sets all kinds of records for losing, and the manager still has a job, and there are no new signings on the horizon. What are the higher ups doing with their time, if not sorting this **** out?

The Guardian and Tim Pearson have one thing in common.

Neither have a clue what Ashley and his cohorts are thinking - just the same as the rest of us.
