Klopp and Ancelotti operate under a DoF, and have done all of their careers - as do pretty much every quality manager in Europe.

And not sure why you think 'businessmen' are the ones identifying targets. There is a specialist team of scouts who do it.

Not saying I believe it, but where is your counter proof with this 150k a week claim that was made?

All of the media reports at the time had him on £100k tops when he signed for City.

I suppose you can post plenty that said he was after £150k at Anfield then???

When clubs new that Liverpool had money especially £M75 from Suarez they want as much money for their players, that
was why we paid premium for Saints players.

  5. I take it club accounts don't show individual payments to players?

He's on a basic of £100k PLUS incentives which includes appearance bonus.

Well who are these people that sit on the 'committee'? Have they any football pedigree or expertise? Their suit men <ok>
Surely a specialist team of scouts would be working under BR instruction?

You state that as fact, when only one article has him on £100k plus £20k appearance money, the others all have him on less.

However, that's still not £150k is it?

Plus you're paying Bellendtelli the same sort of money, so wages was never the issue with Bony. You were never given permission to speak to him, as you never met the asking price or should I say - buy out clause.

So you're saying every employee at a football club must be an ex professional footballer?

Scouts are scouts - they are trained to identify which players have a particular skillset which suits the club. Try identifying these players out of thousands of professionals across the globe.

How many games has he played? I'm sure the bonus payments cross £150k. <ok>

Wages and price clearly cooled our interest.

They did meet the buy out clause but done it in such a underhanded ****ed up way behind our backs, they exposed said buy out clause to the public thus nullifying it <laugh>

That's why a lot of Jacks are enjoying BR clusterfuck moment <ok>

No, but if you're on a committee identifying and signing players for the first team you SHOULD have some sort of footballing understanding, especially if it's a club like Liverpool.
How the hell are they qualified to tell BR what players he will be signing? Brenda is a jumped up puppet. Roberto Martinez would never have accepted this scenario, and rightly so <ok>

Bony is on 60-75k a week which increases to over £100,000 with add ons etc. Then again, you were happy to offer a jumped up 20 year old sparrow £100,000 a few weeks back.

I knew someone at the time who told me that they were after him (I posted it on here actually), and they said they knew the buy out clause but wouldn't meet it as they were trying to get him for less, hoping Swansea would negotiate, but you dug your heels in and they wouldn't stump up.

Which is why you will remain outside of the top 4 for a long time under this sort of direction. To get top 4/win the league, you MUST pay the going rate.

Martinez will be the same with Barkley if someone comes in for him. He won't be bullied into selling him.

On his recent form I think Barkley has managed to scare off potential suitors himself mate <laugh>

    He had a poor season.

Massive season coming up for the lad, he'll either become a genuine star next season or he'll slide into the 'promising youngsters who never fulfilled their potential' pot.

He'll plead his case to the Everton board but if they're prepared to sell, like they have in the past against the wishes of Moyes he'd go.

The suits have the final say and there's nothing the manager can do.<whistle>

Agree to an extent, but the question is what is the going rate and what is over-the-odds? Other transfers of ours seem to indicate that we're willing to pay over the odds for players we really want, which suggests that we simply didn't value him that highly/he wasn't enough of a target to make it worthwhile.
