I didn't expect it would need doing again so quickly, haven't FC got a game in less than a month? please log in to view this image
Looking on from the stand, it looked spot on all season. Means nowt though as I found last season, it looked good until winter but I was on it early November whilst it still looked good and it was complete and utter ****e. It felt bumpier than a motocross track underfoot and the grass was in truth very thin.
The pitch was rubbish and totally to blame for our inept performances against Swansea, Leicester, Newcastle, West Brom and Burnley!
I like it when they put those cannabis farm lamps on it. Alternative revenue stream? Or just pot luck?
Those few of us who are old enough to remember and who were amongst the paltry crowds back then will recall Mike Smith's programme notes beginning " Last week we found ourselves a goal down following an error by the pitch...".
It's a lot better since they got the lamps. It used be practically bare in the spring once the RL season started. Before anyone says it, yes I know RL doesn't do more damage to the pitch, but two teams do more damage than one.
The undersoil heating pipes build up limescale and all have to be dug up and de-scaled every 10-13 years, it's not possible to never dig up the pitch.
