If the BBC and others sites are correct it looks like we are looking to do our business early. This is something that has been lacking in recent years. The sceptic in me could think its because we may have a transfer embargo coming but even if that is true then at least they are getting on with it. There at least feels like there is some kind of plan in place, who knows if it is a good one or not remains to be seen.
This Summer is probably more pivitol in our history than any other as the start of the rebuild commences.
Its early days but I like what im hearing so far but lets hope the lessons have been learnt and actions by the club speak louder than any twitter comments

Doesn't matter how early you sign a player, they can't officially join until the 1st of July. Plenty of time for a transfer embargo to take place and making the transfer void.

But as I have said on other threads there will be no transfer embargo. We have not broken any transfer laws, only economic/FFP laws. Barcelona broke the transfer laws regarding signing of young players and got hit with a transfer embargo. Breaking FFP will only result in fines. Not paying your fines could land you in heavy water though, like being thrown out of the league for instance.

Business not done yet. Let's wait until it's confirmed first.

Football League clubs can sign players once they play their final game of the season. The Premier League window officially starts on 1 July but clubs can sign players from June.

According to Sky Sources, Tottenham Hotspur are set to make a £12m offer for Burnley striker Danny Ings.

Ings is out of contract at Turf Moor at the end of June, but Spurs are hoping that an early bid will secure them the player's services ahead of any of their rivals.

If Ings is out of contract why are Spurs offering 12 million?

Because og his age a fee will be set by a tribunal. Likely to be between £3-5 million. Spurs trying to steal a march on their rivals maybe. Still odd as he's been able to speak to other clubs since January.

We certainly need to do our business as early as possible. We don't want another situation where we start pre-season "tour" with 13 fit players.
