http://rokerreport.sbnation.com/2015/5/26/8661481/sunderland-sign-one-of-swedens-greatest-talents Sunderland have signed 16-year-old Swedish striker Joel Asoro from Brommapojkarna on a four-year deal. Asoro had been interesting Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Juventus, Everton and Red Bull Salzburg but after visiting several of the interested clubs, and training with both Manchester United and Chelsea, has decided that his future lies at the Stadium of Light. His agent, Hasan Cetinkaya, explained why his client had chosen Sunderland, telling Swedish newspaper aftonbladet; We have carefully gone through all the options and Sunderland have certainly shown that they have a plan to make him a Premier League player in the future. This really feels like the best option. He will move to Sunderland with his mother. The striker, described by Cetinkaya as fast, skilful and a 'fox in the box', has already undergone a medical with the club and will be expected to join up with his new academy team-mates at the start of pre-season training in July.
Well if Dicks in charge I hope he's about 6'6" and 19 stone otherwise he will have to fill out a bit. We signed loads of younguns under PDCs reign " one for the future etc" most of them have gone on loan, been transferred out or forgotten about.. F*ck the future get the quality proven players in NOW.
They've signed my youngest son. Not sure how old he is as he's still swimming around in my testicles.
Don't give a ****. We don't play youth players so as far as I'm concerned this just isn't news until it's about him leaving the club with a ****ed up career in five years time.
Or we could be entering a new exciting era for SAFC where we emulate such giants as Swansea & Southampton ......
I'd love to think that was true but we've signed a lot of youth over recent years and it just hasn't panned out. Fingers crossed this changes and Watmore and co get a few games this year.
We need to start seeing some of this raw talent coming through...This young lad seems to be very highly rated, so lets hope our next manager takes them seriously..
Didnt Ol' Snowball say he would of gave Watmore a chance if we were safely mid-table? Not sure why he didnt get a chance at Chelsea tbh, know it would of been difficult but might as well get him some experience Hopefully get to see him soon As for this swedish kid, with him being 16 I cant imagine we will see anything of him for a year or two
Not so long ago we were saying the same things about Conor Whickham, now look at him, a big soft- ****e masquerading as a PL footballer, hope this young lad has a different attitude.
