Not seen Dave around for a while but as i know he frequents your board more often than the Canary one...

Congratulations today on your promotion to the Premier League and keeping within the Watford gap's auto promotion.

Congratulations Dave, thanks for your support throughout the season. Playoffs seemed strange yesterday, having already achieved promotion it was hard to realise the season was still alive.

Shame Middlesbrouhg didn't get promoted, at least we have a chance against them. Now we have to face Wes "Greg Louganis" Hoolahan twice more.

One thing is for sure, the EPL is going to be a lot more colourful with City and Watford joining the party <ok>

Really ? Growing up in the 60s and 70s I always remember Watford playing in yellow shirts, black shorts, yellow socks and a Hornet on the shirts. Never did understand where those red shorts came from in the 80s, never seen a hornet with a red arse <laugh>

There has been some red in our kit since 1976 and the current badge appeared about two years later. That is rather a long time.

Still there is hope for the away kit yet.:emoticon-0100-smile

The red was just trim, although I have seen pictures of an all red away kit from that time. GT introduced the red shorts and socks, along with the badge and they were definitely in place for the 79-80 season, as pictures from that special night against Southampton show. I hope that the red is never removed from the badge on the kit as it was a couple of years ago.

There was red in the kit from day 1 of being known as Watford - 1898 right through to 1909...

And as soon as they removed the red, the slide into war began. Archduke Ferdinand would have been dead today if the red had not been removed (he would have been 151).
