Trust you, Nines, to go to the dullest match of the season with fc uk all to play for...and make it sound like a really interesting trip! A terrific read, in the style of crime noir. Since Ferdinand and Ramsey must know their reputations depend in what happens over the next 6-12 months, it's not surprising they are focused. I would love them to succeed, and I suspect we'll get first signs of whether they're on the right track very soon, with prospective sales and purchases. I don't read anything into lack of morale. After the failure this season, I'd be much more worried if they were all raising their glasses together and looking like a happy family without a care in the world. I'm also hoping TF has ringfenced the FFP issue, so LR and CR don't have that distraction and have an idea of monies available. Thank God the season is over. Now we just have to pull the house down, and prepare for the rebuild...
Thanks nines. A great article. However, is a divorce now on the cards? How could your wife let you suffer a weekend like that rather than sleeping through your daughter's sleepover? Seriously. My full respect to yourself, Stan & all the others that went to Leicester. I couldn't even be bothered to find a steream to watch it! I have read that Alan Birchinall gave the travelling hoops a lot of praise & boy, that was well deserved.
Interesting read Ninesy. My personal opinion of CR has nosedived having read that. Blanking your work colleagues in the way you described shows a lack of class & respect. I fear for our club, it seems eternally riven with infighting, division and a distinct lack of strategic vision
Good piece and very interesting nines. Good to see that we support such a harmonious band of warriors!
Totally agree. As I said earlier it just comes across as unprofessional all round. The obvious example of how it back fires is the fact we are here discussing it!! It should be basic conduct that in public you do nothing to undermine club or staff. Not impressed
Cheers 999's interesting read. I admire you, Stan and many others for making the journey to Leicester to witness such a lacklustre performance. Mrs 999's is either very understanding or a psychic to work out that it's best for you to anguish over the R's in your own way. Either way, you're very fortunate. Let's hope that CR & LF have a proper plan to turn the fortunes of the club around and gives us a QPR that we can be proud of and enjoy supporting once again no matter how long it takes.
Very interesting read Nines. Not surprised at the lack of togetherness given that they don't know each other- a collection of mismatched personalities bought together by various second hand car salesmen over the last few years. I see it as a positive that our new manager is as driven as that before the season is even over. Doubt he'll be buying a pack of manila envelopes in the last week of August (and charging it to expenses) unlike some of our previous gaffers. He seems to know exactly what and who he wants and exactly who he wants out of the door as quickly as possible. It will be a much more interesting summer this year. I bet we have far fewer rumours and leaks than in years past and that our buying is done a bit more behind closed doors - like any normal football club would.
Great article nines, it seems that bond doesn't have much say on what goes on but blanking people is not on, it's like talking down to them which I hate, oh well they must know what there doing.
Thanks for your kind replies one and all. I did expect a bit of flack but thankfully it didn't materialise. I would just like to add about Ramsey & Co blanking the players. The lack of response from them may well be because they were too deeply engrossed in the business they were conducting. As I said, I wasn't actively watching or intently listening to them, it may be that they waved a hand in acknowledgement or whatever. In light of the comments on our board that we can sign players before any embargo maybe imposed, getting in new blood was paramount above all else. I also forgot to add that on Sunday CR was on his phone constantly that morning. He was pacing up and down outside the hotel, and it would seem that he was trying to get some deals in place.
Thanks Nines! You heard bits of one side of phone calls right? We'll have to get you equiped to pick up the other end of the calls for your next trip! Perhaps he was just trying to sort the summer training camp?
Lets hope so as need players in asap & don't want to be scraping the bottom of the barrel at the end of the window (as long as not under any transfer embargo by then).
I would assume that there is some sort of connection between the Hotel and LCFC. Most away teams and new signings stay there.
