Why don't you ask Dave Merrington what he thinks of Adam Lallana?

Hey lads, you gave us a hell of a lot of money last summer. I am surprised Lovren has been as poor as he has (I can't say I haven't enjoyed that though :)), Rickie, bless him was just not used right and Lallana is a very good quality player. I think he's a twat now for his behaviour this time last year, but that doesn't detract from the fact he's a good player. He may have peaked though.

Look, how about this: as a gesture of good will and with an eye on all the money you gave us last summer, how do you fancy keeping Mr Ian Thumwood for nothing? :emoticon-0150-hands:emoticon-0148-yes: Deal?

Because I'm capable of making my own observations. He's a good player. Nothing more.

No deal, We'd let you have Lambert back. Best for all really, unfortunately looks like Villa are going to get him possibly as part of a Benteke deal.

We'd let you have Lovren back as well, we'll pay for the train fair to Soton.
We'll keep Lallana for now, not a bad player (just not great)

Never really got the hostility some Soton fans have towards us. Towards the players for the way they wanted out yes, just have to see how we feel about Sterling at the moment. Its football, players move about all the time and you got plenty of money for them.

Shame you seem incapable of stating your opinions without resulting to petty swipes. It's getting a bit boring now, to be honest. Time to grew up, I would suggest.

Hunt - I don't think there is any more hostility towards Liverpool than any other top team. Unfortunately Rodger's lofty attitude didn't win him any fans on the South coast and the widely reported poster welcoming "Liverpool's reserve team" during the opening game of the season wasn't particularly helpful. This just reinforced the impression that Liverpool could plunder our ranks at their leisure.

Yes, but come on, since when did logic and emotional football fans go together? We were hardly going to be loving you guys when you took the three players and add to that Brenda's disparaging remarks (oh how I love hearing those quoted now), it's perfectly understandable really.

You' re talking about Sterling going, imagine if it was Sterling, Gerrard (two years ago) and Caan all of to United/City/Arsenal; I don't see you being too happy. I've not got any hostility towards Liverpool, however I really have enjoyed watching the last month or so and what is happening there. What goes around, comes around.

Any way, good luck next season.

You only want two of ours this summer? You must be going soft. We all thought it was Spuds that wanted to be us, taking our manager, our head of recruitment, singing our song and now even putting a sash on their kits :)

I can understand the hostilities soton fans have. Maybe ive taken a few threads but firstly the soton fans didnt like the way lovren and lallana left (just look at your reactions to torres and sterling). Then i distinctly remember at least a few liverpool fans rubbing it in saying its part of football get over it stop holding your players back etc. Added to rodgers remarks and i can see why you are hardly in their number 1 fan club.

Lambert 5 - £4mill, wasn't it? Can't really go wrong for that, then again not much really went right for him.
Lallana 4 - poor season for an expensive player but he has his moments and I think he'll improve once you guys settle on a formation and stop moving everyone around the pitch.
Lovren 1 - So much money, so many errors. He's been the centreback equivalent of signing Soldado.
Markovic 6 - Looked lively whenever I saw him, just lacks some direction, like most of the team.
Moreno 3 - He has time on his side, obviously, but he looks very expensive when you compare him to some of the other fullbacks available last summer. Bargain compared to Shaw, mind.
Manquillo 5 - Bit of a waste of time but presumably didn't cost you much for the loan.
Balotelli 0 - You took a punt on him and it's backfired horribly, now you have your own Adebayor - my deepest sympathies.
Emre Can 8 - I like watching him, he's a classy player(the odd dive aside) and I think he'll be a great Premier League player whether he ends up in defence of midfield(I'd go with midfield if you can get some good defenders in).

In the end you got pretty much the same results as us one season on from the big summer spend up trying to compensate for the best player in the league leaving. If our second season is anything to go by you should keep Markovic and sell the rest, we only saw improvement from Chadli out of our flops and a couple even managed to go further backwards! <yikes>

    Fair this <ok>

Wish we'd gone for Dier instead of Lovren.

If you can point out who went to the Southampton board and wummed them fine. When they go out of their way to come over here they get what they get.

At the time I recall many who were unimpressed with loverns attitude and many who didn't care. Basically lallana was treated slightly differently due to time served etc but Lovern got nothing but hate cos he was there a wet weekend and said stuff that made Southampton sound a terrible place.

Lovern gets what he deserves ino

  18. I said I didn't want us to sign Lovren as soon as we were linked but I did also go on record as saying I'd never want to see us sign a player that is willing to strike to get his own way. Shocking behaviour from a player!

I bet the same fans are the ones who are outraged when players like Suarez and Sterling adopt the same tactics to engineer moves away from LFC.

Personally, I didn't mind that Lovren was willing to strike to move to LFC. It does show that the player wants to play for LFC. But I certainly won't be crying if the same player tries to do the same at LFC because we have to ensure we match the player's ambition and try to make them stay.

I'll just end crying about other things instead. <ok>
