Our mid-field is currently lightweight we need a mid-field enforcer, and they don't come cheap, and not
many of them around willing to play non-champion league football.

His value at the moment is hovering at around £5m - and had we paid that for him then there would be very few questions being asked of him. However, fact is we paid £20million for a guy that scored a few goals in the portuguese league ffs.

We did that with Sanchez and he said no, went to Arsenal for less. That's the other side of this coin, having identified the 'right' targets, how do we get them to choose us?

I'm pretty certain that's not how you spell Aubameyang <ok>

Lallana could also play that position if need be, and hopefully there may well be some sort of DM coming in as well (but I won't hold my breath).

I'd be prepared to go with Ings and one first team quality striker if it saves funds that can be used elsewhere that are urgent. A strike force of, say, Studge, Origi, Balotelli and Ings would scare me though.

It happened to City. They offered 200m for Kaka the donuts. Then they realised they had to go for top names that had fallen out of favour so then turned to tevez robinho yaya etc. I think Benzema or even Ibrah fall into that bracket.

Btw Bojan has been forgotten since his injury. He plays AM for stoke but he can play as a striker and is a finisher. He wouldnt be your main man but he'd be brilliant in a front two with someone like Benzema.

We'll have to upgrade our opinion of Ayre's negotiating skills if he does manage to sell Balotelli and we're not paying someone to take him off our hands.

And a new goalie ........... as either first choice or decent back up, Mignolet's battery recharge ran out about 5 games ago.

I know it's not popular but I actually think the right handling could get much more out of Balotelli, he's a real handful to play against.

  14. I agree the right handling could see us benefit but I really can't see a rival buying him :bandit:

He may never be the right fit for the team but I really do believe he has more to offer than we've seen. A good manager should get the best from all his players. This choosing players based on who did well at training just doesn't work. He's punishing players to maybe keep his own ego in tact when the specific needs of the team should come first.

On that point - Most will be glad to see the back of Sterling but do you punish him by leaving him out and the team suffers for it? Had we already got 5th place I fully understand but we didn't and it looked like a public shaming rather than one last push for a higher place.

I think Rodgers should be given another chance. His hands are tied and he's bound to FSG's tough recruitment policy.

He wanted to bring in experienced players last season, but was only give £65m to spend on 4 players over the age of 24. I'm not sure how many manager can operate in such circumstances.

We need more experience and someone like Milner will provide this - I hope the owners will sanction a big wage deal for him. <ok>

Maybe something is wrong with buying policy. Who makes decision manager or board?.

The committee operate within FSG's policy/criteria. ALL signings must be approved, accepted and liked by ALL members of the committee.
