An excellent initiative from community groups. Okay, the funding from the Rank Foundation surely helped, but it's good to see people acting without expecting the Council to fund everything. Credit to all involved. It's a good example to others.
I don't think it was anything to do with the Council. It was Burnsy and the BBC team following a letter from a chap in Goole. They started the ball rolling and it was funded by the Rank Foundation. Hull - The City that keeps on giving. Slavery abolition, The rules of football and film industry/milling etc. any ****er say's what is Hull famous for will get a poke in the eye.
Maybe I shouldn't have given them any credit, though I do think they have an involvement in Probe, who actually made this happen. Though it was supported by Rank and I think they contributed some of the funding, I believe it was mainly funded by the 'empty homes initiative'.
You do the left eye and I will do the right eye. We need a 3rd person in case they come from Sunderland.
I wouldn't say Hull is famous exactly for those things. How many people down south have heard of Wilberforce never mind his Hull connection?
