Hi Guys I bet there's a few sore heads on this board after yesterday!

Just wanted to add my sincere congratulations on your elevation to the Premier League,

You deserved to go up just by the quality of the players that you have and to be honest despite our rivalry I am not overly annoyed as you have to be pragmatic at times.

Good luck for next season and do East Anglia Proud! <ok>

Respect Warky, that must really hurt posting that.

It certainly has been one hell of a roller coaster being a City fan over the last few years.
The devastation of relegation to League 1, the unmitigating embarrassment of losing 1-7 at home to Colchester on the first day of the season in the third tier, the jubilation as Paul Lambert took us back to the Championship as Champions, the elation as he then took us back to the Premier League, the pride of finishing so high in our first season back, the despair as Lambo left for Villa, the satisfaction of finishing even higher in the PL under Hughton, the despair as the board stuck with Hughton so long when it was obvious to most that change was needed, the in-fighting that then ensued on here between City fans, the disbelief as Adams was appointed after the board had supposedly 'scoured Europe' for Hughton's replacement, the disappointment of apparently having no hope of a swift return to the top flight in November, the piss taking from Town fans with Ipswich 10 points ahead of us in the table, more disbelief as an unknown 33 year old was then given the manager's job, the remarkable turn around in form and results under the new manager and finally the unbelievable experience yesterday as Alex Neil took us back to the Promised Land in the best way possible !

You know what ? I wouldn't change a thing and I cannot believe that fans of the big clubs experience the same emotions as fans of 'real' clubs like ours do.It's what being a football fan is all about.

Top stuff guys and it is good that the East Anglian brethren can say well done, a nice touch from all concerned. It was greta to have the Old Farm matches back this season and to have 4 was a bonus, hopefully the next one will be in the Premiership!

Given the size of East Anglia as a region we should be doing much better with the representation in the top flight of football. Shame it wasn't our turn this year but who knows it may well happen at the end of the 2016 campaign!

Fair play JWM, that's very gracious of you.

It couldnt of been easy watching your closest rivals reach the prem. Especialy given the way it was achieved.

I can't speak for every city fan, but, I can say hand on heart I would of reciprocated the gesture had it been the other way round.

Good luck with next season, would be good if we can manage to stay there and you could join us <ok>

Not sure about that one, certainly I agree in terms of size of area but as regards population density we are probably about right if nto slightly fighting above our weight. When youi consider that Yorkshire now has no representation at all and neither does Nottingham or Bristol, it makes East Anglia look decent.

I think this is right - wasn't there a stat about there being supposedly more seals in our catchment area (before our academy got upgraded) than people?!

Yes you have a fair point but this didn't stop us from both being in the top flight during large parts of the 70s/80s and some of the 90s!

They were the halcyon days when the whole area was buzzing and all was good in the World. But going back to your original point though, we were both very much outperforming what was expected in terms of population and those numbers haven't changed fundamentally.

Football was a lot less money orientated in those days and the local lads were given more of a chance to play in the first teams, The likes of Trevor Whymark, Brian Talbot, Roger Osborne et al were all sourced from the local East Anglian leagues. You wouldn't get this today one or two at best!

Yes, it has all gone wrong for me and it was the beginning of the Premiership with all of the Sky money that basically broke the game as it was. I have lamented on various threads the fact that our Youth Cup winners have barely figured for the squad and this promotion will not aid that cause at all, what a waste. To have local boys in the team is important in my view because that is a glue to help to bring the football club and home Town / City together, otherwise it is just cheque book World X1's with clubs being the corporate version of Loadso'money. All very sad really but we sure ain't going back to those times, in fact, it is going even further down that moneyed path and will continue until fans eventually say enough is enough.

Don't get me wrong,it's great to get promoted back into the top flight. But part of me when we are off to Chelsea or Citeh would rather be going to Portman Rd.

Yes, exactly Cruyff. The one bright point is that the trip to Anfield does not look as desperate as it has done previously, what the hell is going on there?

Just as long as they don't get the idea of poaching an up and coming young manager.
