A while back the HDM ran reports from the local papers of all our players that were out on loan, Dudgeon's was less than glowing. He hasn't played for us since Sept 2013, we stuck by him while injured and gave him a last chance to prove himself, he didn't and he'll definitely be gone.
If the club offload , a few players Sagbo, Figgy, Hernandez, Jelavic AND provide a buying war chest of £15-20 m. Life in the Championship will be a breeze.
As long as he wants to play for us, after the way we signed him then more or less threw him out the door, won't be surprised if he goes.
Burnley and QPR will lose their key players though (Ings, Austin...etc), we don't really have any key players, losing Chester, Brady and Robertson would be less damaging to us than losing only Austin would be for QPR.
Where the hell do you think we're getting £15-20m from? I love the way people talk about parachute payments and / or selling players and fail to take into account the existing debt we already had PLUS a £70m drop in annual revenue.
It's more like a £50m drop and I don't really think we'd have an issue raise £15-20m through player sales if required, at Premier League prices it's only three or four players.
As long as we're not in a position where we need to sell then we can and will hold out for fair prices. Snodgrass wasn't worth £8m but Norwich didn't particularly need or want to sell him despite him obviously wanting to come to continue playing in the premiershit, so it's what it took to prize him away. I assume it would be the same for the majority of our players, whether they've had a bad season or not. We have £8m worth of Livermore being written off so I'm certain the club won't want to take a hit anywhere else and will demand top money before allowing anyone to leave.
As much as I am disgusted at Livermore's actions, is he a write off though? Ok, assuming of course he's in a for a lengthy ban - then yes. However, he will come back at some point. Oddly, I do wonder if the old man Allam might give him a chance to rehabilitate himself at the club? Just a thought!
If we can sack him and sue him for anything, it's obviously a better option. I don't know if we can get away with paying him minimum wage whilst he serves his suspension, but even if we can, that's an outgoing where even if all we get in return for sacking him is the value of his car, it's still something, and it also sends out the right message which is priceless imo.
Are'nt the club suing Jake ?. I realise Jake may not have £8m in his private account, But I thought the club may be trying to get some of their outlay for him - from him.
I think a lot of people on here forget how hard it is to get out of the Championship, there are a lot of good teams in there
I'm not disputing we'll raise that through sales, what I'm saying is it'll be swallowed up elsewhere through existing salaries. Do you really think we'll spend over £15m this summer? And wasnt there a tweet after Sunday that said our money in the last Championship season was £11.1m and this season it was over £80m?
The only job he'll be offered is as a "Tea Ladies" assistant in France. What a disaster, 2 from 32 appearances and got the @rse from Wolves because he was 'too lazy' and wouldn't train.
If there was, it was from someone who didn't know what they were talking about, the parachute payment is only £15m.
I dont know what you mean about parachute payment. The tweet from a journalist / newspaper - which I cant find at the mo - said in our promotion season we had income of £11m and this season we've had £80m so there's a £70m shortfall.
