Not writing off Markovic yet by any means. More just curious that you left him out after being a strong advocate for him in the past.

He's shown definate glimpses of what he can do, but Ibe had the better season for a similar player. Needs to up his game next season (and hopefully be played in the right position).

Bottom line is you should have bought at least 2 marquee signings last summer. Massive mistake when you really had the chance to cement top 4 you chose to invest solely on "potential".

EVERYONE knows that despite his faults, Rodgers can do a fck of a lot better with TOP class players. He did it with Suarez ffs.

You HAVE to buy a couple of big names. Even if you want Klopp, if you think he is going to come in and get you top 4 with more "potential" signings you're kidding yourselves.

The talent is there. Can't expect them to be world beaters in the first season.

Didn't leave him out on purpose. <ok>

He has shown glimpses but he has been poor. I can't hide the fact. But in his defence, he's played in an unfamiliar role. Ibe has looked better because Ibe is better suited to playing on the wing.

    Marko is better playing centrally.

    Why not?

Markovic is older than Sterling and only a year younger than Coutinho and Lukaku ffs.

He's been a ****ing flop lad.

Given what we've seen of him he's a mile off being a top drawer PL player.

    Sounds ominous!

But in all seriousness, big changes are required. I don't think we can afford to sit on our hands this summer, which some papers would have you believe.

  9. Which is why I keep saying we need to go out and buy two quality strikers this summer. Sure the defence and midfield need strengthening too but last season showed that you can claim the table (but not win the title) if you score goals. Attack is the first form of defence and all that.

Then you didn't watch Markovic for Benfica last year. He's won titles and featured in the Europa League.

You're calling him a flop for his one season in the PL and playing in the wrong position.

  11. I thought you had after Nozzer pointed his omission out because you know the reaction it would get. Tobes as already responded since.

I don't see Marko as any better than Ibe (who I clearly rate) but he cost us £20m. Take that fee away and he wouldn't get anywhere near the same level of stick. The fee isn't the players fault, it's the clubs, committees and/or Brod's.

    Same goes for Lallana.

Agree with a lot of that although I think a striker and a defensive/ box to box midfielder. Spend money on a couple of ready made big names who can come straight in and start winning you games. Players like Coutinho, Markovic, Ibe, Can and Henderson will flourish as a result. But not on their own. And not with more "potentials"

    far too sensible.

we need a big lump upfront so we can not aim the ball at them and then isolate them.

What he did in the Portugese league is a complete irrelevance.

What we saw this season was that he struggled to cut it in the EPL, it's a simple fact lad.

  15. If we can get Milner, we'll have him, Hendo, Can, Lucas and Allen fighting for three midfield spots.

Studge can't be relied on. Lambert, Balotelli and Borini (plus Aspas) all need to ****off this summer leaving Studge and Origi. Ings isn't the answer IMO, sign two first team quality strikers. Would love Tevez but can't see it happening. I would like Auyugeberg (sp)

  16. Could have said the same for a lot of other players that have come good too though, arguably including C.Ronaldo after his first year at Man Utd although he was better than Marko's been.

True. So to write him off totally would be wrong as well, but to say he's showed genuine top drawer potential would be equally wrong as he did ****ing nowt this season.

  18. I wouldn't say nothing since he had decent five or six game spell but certainly nothing to shout home about.

As I said higher up, we spent £20m on a him when we already had Ibe.

First season maybe tough for some players. Unfortunately we had so many of them. Can only hope
that are going to get better next season.

I would aim higher and offer money to get them. Schweinsteiger or DeRossi for example to add steal in midfield. What about even Carvalho.

As for strikers be cheeky like City were. Real Madrid seem to have one too many with James, Benzema, Jese. You feel the club out as to who they'd consider selling/loaning. Morata last season proves that. Tevez would be good. Cant think off the top of my head but they are out there. Ibrahimovic? A bit of FM about all this but it's needed imo.
