Ilori, Sakho, Moreno, Manquillo, Can, Henderson (to some extent), Coutinho, Ibe, Sterling (if we can keep him), Origi.

Has the makings of a quality squad. Unproven but a lot of potential.

Not convinced mate - Sakho was clearly imposed on Rodgers when he wanted Williams. And it showed when Sakho was marginalised.

So whilst they all have to 'agree', it doesn't mean that they all support the decision. The committee/Rodgers is not a cohesive unit and IMO, there is one man that needs to removed from that process.

  3. Ilori is yet to play for us.

    Moreno as been poor.

    Mankiller isn't our player.

Origi is yet to train with us.

    Sterling's already gone.

That leaves Sakho, Can, Hendo and Coutinho, plus Flanno obviously!

Ilori - not played in the PL

Sakho - not for me him

    Moreno - can't defend

Manquillo - couldn't nail down a place ahead of Johnson ffs.

Can - looks a good prospect

Henderson - really? hard working but a limited player

Coutinho - I'll give you him

    Ibe - As above

Sterling - no chance he's staying

Origi - <laugh> bombed in France this season, another World cup buy that'll come to nothing.

  6. You're arguing over who may have originally brought up a players name when the committee met. There is no way of knowing that, it is purely opinion based.

What I'm saying is actual signings are agreed by the committee with Brod having the final say on all transfer activity.

The latter means it doesn't matter if it was Maradona or Madonna who did the former.

Here's me trying to be optimistic ha!

They are unproven but they are talented. Ilori has played against the likes of Messi and Zlatan, and held his own.

Moreno is raw but still new to the country and style of play. And he's playing under one of the worst defensive coaches in the country, and in a makeshift defence.

Manquillo is here on a two year loan, and At Madrid have no intention of recalling him (as per AS).

Origi is one of the brightest talents in a country which is currently going through a golden generation. Representing Belgium at the world cup at such a young age, and held his own.

FSG had the right idea but they dropped the idea when they appointed Rodgers, and it led to us signing Allen and Borini.

Then they brought in the committee and we signed Coutinho, Sturridge, Migs, Sakho, Can etc.

Then Rodgers finished 2nd and got a bit more power, and wanted the Soton lads.

FSG need to stay true to the original plan and bring in a DoF.

  11. **** optimism, I prefer realism :)

Paying £14m for a LB, I'd expect Moreno to be able to defend lol

Mankiller; two year loan yes, but that's hardly a long term future which is the main issue in discussion right now lol

I've not seen much of Ilori or Origi part this year.

over time as well as... aspas... and the vast majority of signings of the same ilk

YOu simply cannot slaughter one part of said committee then defend the rest of it.

you have ZERO clue what you are talking about. It is no logical to assume one player is totally rodgers fault but the other player is the committee's cos he is good.

Finally re=read that old thread. you were all over rodgers.. you can't claim otherwise.

at least i sat on the fence. cowardly maybe but hey...

If he's a man of moral he'll fall on his sword, any position of strength he had at the club went out of the window a few weeks ago when any chance we had of 4th place vanished.
If he agrees to work with or under the guidance of a Dof/General Manager he's showing just how weak he really is, nothing wrong in self belief but he's playing football manager for real at LFC as if it was on a games console.

So I'm guessing myself, Tony Evans and Paul Joyce are all clueless for saying Rodgers wanted Lovren, Lallana and Lambert? Apologies for applying common sense and listening to the very few reliable journos who are close to the club. <ok>

And re. my views on Rodgers last season - yes, I did big him up but not sure why that's relevant to this discussion. Unless you have some massive chip on your should and feel the need to use that in an attempt to discredit anything I say? I didn't realise opinions had to be set in stone.

I would dig up some of the times you were proven wrong but I'm not sad enough to do that. <ok>

Ilori didn't hold down a first team place in Spain or France in the last 2 seasons though, so he's obviously still way short of being able to contribute meaningfully in the PL.

Moreno can't defend for toffee, his awareness of danger is horrific.

As for Origi, I remember you making similar comments about Markovich mate <laugh>

    And Markovic! Quality player.

But if you have the same mindset as MITO - we'll write off any young player after 1 season. <ok>

What's the point of signing young talent? Imagine if we did get Depay and he struggled in his first season. Imagine the criticism he would face.

  19. It wouldn't be that bad, they'd just be labeled #average

PS... Haven't you already written off Flanno despite him not yet having a seasons equivalent of matches? Despite doing very well in a team that ended in second <whistle>
