All about progress Treble. If its there I am happy to bckwany manager to the hilt. One showed it and one didnt.

Had moyes shownsome direction or that his ideas were based on some sort of plan, I would have backed him no problem.

He didnt. van Gaal did. Even when it was tough going, he changed things (forced or not, how mant managers have the guts to drop a record signing or make two rejects key reasons for our revival?). He blended youth into the side which is something most of us like to see.

I admit I was incredibly harsh in the end but of anyone thinks I care, they are mistaken. I Wasnt referring to you btw treble. Even though you have been far more critical of lvg than I was of moyes.

Probably because lvg gives you something to criticise.

Tbh i agree with your point about Moyes taking it easy, he was always a bag of nerves with the press but he'd obviously been given assurances (probably by Fergie)that he had plenty of time to rebuild etc but in football and it being what it is time waits for no man......except Brendan(if he keeps his job), in contrast to Moyes's fear of the press Brendan would talk the balls off a snooker table and uses superlatives fit for Messi to describe players that having won jack ****.

If FSG give him the nod to keep his job at the meeting I hope they stipulate that he tones down his gabbing to the media and to just feed them the info the club want released and not his off the cuff bs.

Van Gaalis a confident man too which helps. he has an air of leasership about him which has no doubt helped the players take to him. He like Moyes changed the training methods but unlike Moyes he tailored it to individuals as well as the collective. On top of that he worked to change our style but also showed an ability to do whats needed. Van gaals never played it long before. Hes always beem a possession manager but he used what he had and to good effect. This shows his quality, his ability to change when needed and that he can learn new tricks. It wasnt pretty at times but compare him to Wenger, who despite a decade of failure, still hasnt learnt.

Behind the scenes too. Apparently all our targets are sorted and the outgoings are signed and sealed. Its just better alround.

Some people are stuck in the violent and backwards 80s where failure was often accepted. Thats their problem.

Time waits for no man. Go backwards and you're likely to get sacked. Thats football. We sacked a failure. Madrid just sacked a CL winner....

Puts it into perspective. Moyes would be publicly hung in Madrid.

We'll see whether Van Gaal is the real deal or not next season mate.

I think even the most ardent United fan would admit that he rode his luck at times this season, and next season the expectations will be higher than merely finishing 4th.

He'll be expected to win and win with some style next year.

Definitely rode his luck. At times weve been awful and beyond dull. This idea that I've done nothing but back him has kept me laughing.

A full pre season, signings in early and a good start next season could be the difference.

If we get those strongly linked then we will be very strong. Of course we could always add more if someone becomes available.

So is next year utd's year?

Are you gonna make a prediction they'll win the title then based on who the hacks guess the club might sign?

No idea what will happen. Think we will be much better based on a full pre season. Something we missed last season that Chelsea have shown can have a huge benefit.

Title? Its not unreasonable to believe we can challenge but we still have a big gap to close on the Chelsea. We need to master how to beat those who put 10 behind the ball.

A good start is vital though.

It was suspected that LvG's training regime was mainly responsible for a lot of Utd's injury problems last season, now that Utd are going full time again next season the time his casualities will have to recover will be far less and Utd's prospective new signing's haven't been through the ritual of getting injured at training yet.
LvG could save himself the trouble of injuring them himself by taking a leaf out of our book and sign them when they're already on crutches.

They may challenge, yet they may not. All we know is they'll play 38 games, and will 99.9% definitely accumalate a point. But how many is the question.. Enough to challenge? Who knows, but they may. Or may not. Depends.. On the points.
