city yes (borrell is global director under Begiristain as DoF) cheslea yes (michael emenalo called sporting director) Utd no but Van gaal wil be in 2 years i'd say Arsenal are archaic and wenger just runs the show... they will have one in the end southampton (Martin Hunter) have one and they have head of academy too (les reed) so that covers cortese going Spurs had Franco Baldini tehcnical director is he still there? The honest truth is You can have a guy doing the work of managing the strucutres and not get in a coaches way if you do it right. but... owners have to be in there making real decisions knowing what they are at.
It was a genuine question BR will have to accept changes but to appoint this and that to make up for insufficiencies(not countng DOF) is just the wrong waytogo to keep BR here It looks like the players have lostfaith as well, where isour never say die attitude? Nowhere to beseen and hasnt been for ages 3 years into a 3 year plan and its Stoke 6 Liverpool 1. Whether we have a dof or notletsget a better manager in and I thinkthat will happeen after the review
If he really has lost the dressing room then that will filter back through to the owners and at that point there are only 2 solutions... Get rid of players Or Get rid of manager one if far more realistic
So next season we will have Brendan and Colin turn up at every ground apologise that we've no players and give the opposition a walk over ... at least there'll be no more 6-1s. A walk over is only 3-0. Then Brendan can pat himself on the back for shoring up our defence
I hope so becausefranklywe can do better than BR I nver wanted himanyway but last season was amazing and as long as we're doing well, even losing butwith fight I cantake, but now looks like a mess As long as we have some identity on the pitch, the never say die attitude butwe dont. We couldnnt be furtherfrom it. We have no settled team, no stand out players and are rudderless LFC 1 - Palce 3 ffs Get rid Get a better managein who doesnt need another 3 appointments because hes not good enough for us
Bad days line carroll debacle and having to send letters to fans etc should have taught fsg. This will lose them the fans. If they buy Ings on compo Benteke for 30 Mil and milner they will be run out of Anfield next time they come even if it is to sack the guy in October.
I don't think either Real, Barca or Chelsea are best comparisons although I can understand the Real Madrid one in principle. BUT if you really want the best comparison for Liverpool (where you are and where you need to get to) then you need to look at Man City. They got the money and their first priority was to establish themselves in the top 4. So they started coveting big name signings. They couldn't wow them with much else except big wages. I think Liverpool may have to do this to some extent but unlike City, I still think the name LFC will attract players also so you won't have to break the bank. City bought big names who had fallen out of favour e.g. Tevez, Yaya, Robinho, Adebayor and coupled that with players like Gareth Barry and Lescott and De Jong to compliment them. Not all of those were great signings but City experimented and more importantly attracted other players. That to a certain extent is what LFC have to do. Putting your hatred of Sterling to one side for a second and imagine signing Lavezzi or Ibrahimovic coupled with Schweinsteiger, Khedeira or De Rossi and Cech - NOT ALL FFS just a selection (off the top of my head), don't you think it will make Sterling at least consider staying...like something big is going to happen. That is the way forward for Liverpool. And tbh it's very much what United have had to do following last season.
Without one of the bestplayersin the world we have no identity or style, Under Kenny you knew they'd chop their balls off for the cause. Rafa you knew we'd be so stubborn and also score BR is in above hishead, we need a better manager What do we have right here? Nothing. Who goes to Stoke and suffers6-1? Who inGerrards last game at Anfield loses 1-3? Who in a semi V Villa dont turn up? Same for first half V Utd and the list goes on Bad in Europe etc etc An shambles to putitlightly. Im amazed we finished 6th
The owners have apparently given him the vote of confidence. This is beyond desperate. Football at this level is about maintaining standards as high as possible. It is not about resting on your laurels. As Madrid has shown. To me Rodgers has done a bit of that: living off the previous seasons "success". Changing a manager does not only provide an opportunity for a new direction but also a message to the players that mediocrity will not be tolerated nor just coasting along. Some of the players have listened to Rodgers for 2-3 years. Where is the evidence that they will now listen? Or Rodgers has suddenly become a better coach and tactitician?
It is a question of what the players are thinking about 'this guy Rodgers' now. Let's not forget they're listening to what he's saying most days, on the training pitch, in tactical analysis sessions, one to ones in his office, team talks, from the sideline on match days and just around the club generally. How many actually give him the time of day and still believe he talks a lot of sense and have time for the guy on a personal / professional level and how many just pay him lip service but in their heads are thinking 'what the **** is this clueless moron going on about, he's a ****ing idiot'?? I know from playing sport and being around different clubs there are those whose opinion you respect and actually value and those who you just give it the 'oh right yeah' to and then in your head bash them. You all know what I'm saying just from having any kind of job or being at any kind of club. Owners should talk to some of the players, visit the training ground and get an ear to the ground before making a decision. They should've done this before the end of the season to see how the land lies. Clearly there are players at the club who think Rodgers is an utter tosser and there are some who are still invested in his ideas, it's just what the ratio is.
his name is ian ayre and he should be telling them... frankly there are plenty of clowns wandering about melwood able to stab him in the back if the absentee landlords were bothered.
He's a baseball head, he was invited onto another committee last year by MLB in the sport he's an expert in, but him having a say in LFC shows we've lost our identity as an individual sports institution as far as FSG are concerned. http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2...e-committee/EZFDO6Od7TJ3nCj3z7cCdJ/story.html We should only have football people running our club.
I think we need a mixture of people. Mike Gordon is someone who can run the club as a business but then we need a DoF to focus on the football side.
So therefore Gordon shouldn't be on any committee at LFC, business people write or refuse to write cheque's, football people only should be on any committee if FSG decide they want to stick with that method.
I think the only interaction Mike Gordon (Ian Ayre previously) has on the committee is with regards to the financial aspect of any deal i.e. amount of wages to be offered, transfer fee etc. In terms of identifying targets etc, that's down to the scounts/Rodgers.
