Indeed, rules should not be adhered to blindly, but examined to see whether they are good ones or not. If a petition helps that process then all well and good. In the case of PL's petition, I think he's possibly mistaking a Women's League that is adjusting to new demands and times rather than being outwardly grossly and obviously unfair.
I'm remembered being reeled into that one by the trailer, which was accompanied by a really slow version of Chris Isaak's 'Wicked Game', with the hope of big things. What a load of rubbish I thought. Haven't got into too many new series lately. Watched two episodes of a Christopher Eccleston 4-parter on ITV a few weeks back, but got fed up with that despite the very impressive views of the Lakes. I'll get round to starting the Eddie Marsan magician drama one that aired last Sunday on the BBC - looked a bit different. That being said, I have kept with 'Critical', a really engrossing medical series on Sky1, but am way behind (I think it has actually finished airing now but I have 5 or 6 still to go). Written by Jed Mercurio who also penned my favourite drama series of the last decade: Line of Duty. Had two series so far, and there are two coming up in the next year or so on BBC Two. Bring them on!
Ah yes, you're talking about Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell. I watched most of episode one, but got called away and never came back to it. Quite curious and odd. I'm not particularly interested in the premise of forgotten magic in the Kingdom but it seemed to be very well done. I'll have to download the thing on iPlayer before it disappears off our screens and give it a committed go.
Yes that's the one. I will watch it later in the week. It just looks different from the usual period costume dramas that you find these days. That said, I was a huge fan of the recent remake of Poldark.
Crikey, so was I. It was done so well. I'm still a bit in withdrawal so I bought the first two books again. Eventually I read all 12, way back when, and sold most of them to eager Kiwis when I lived in NZ. Any left I gave away yonks ago. Feels odd going to ebay and buying them again. That'll teach me.

It was really well done, and the actors were very good. Obviously from seeing the original with Robin Ellis in the 70s I knew most of the story, but it was very enjoyable and I'm glad it seemed to be so popular with others.
Yeah, I saw the original and was a fan of that too. But I think they've topped it so far with this one. OK, it's easy to better the production values from yesterday, because the Beeb used to spend nothing on series back then and today's technology makes effecting realism much easier. But the actors have such a chemistry between them it's astonishing and they are all good, especially Tomlinson and Turner.
Yeah. Back in the 1970's he was made to be quite chilling, apart from being besotted with Elizabeth. But this time he's written as very pleasant on the surface, but quite slimy underneath. Early on, I got the sense that, if he had been out from the influence of his uncle, he may have turned out quite all right. But of course, he can't.
I can only judge them on the one time I saw them or any other baseball game for that matter; they were **** and it was as dull as anything. Still, they are the local team for my company, so "Go Twins"
