Now 12-3....Taylor the latest to go lbw Broad.....not exactly sideways Stan but enough movement if ball put in right place..... Run chase now over NZ will look to hold on and get to Leeds still level.....
And happy birthday from me Stroller... Can't understand Cook not declaring at the 330ish mark, his bowlers have rescued him as had he batted on rather than us being all out he might not have had the swing to assist. Cook has often had a lot of luck as a captain and, despite his caution, has got lucky today...
Thanks Sooper. I thought Cook batted on too long too - why send Anderson out to bat?. He's an overly cautious captain.
134-5 at tea, bit of a recovery by NZ......should be a thrilling last session. If you're not interested in the cricket BBH why have you posted on this thread? or was that just a dig at Stroller?
As it's not a Bank Holiday here today, our's is next Monday, I've got back from work, when I left NZ were 5 down, just logged back on and they're 9 down.... To think that England were 30 odd for 4 on the first morning and now look likely to record a decent win....brilliant game, credit to NZ for attacking at all times....
What a fantastic win by England, beating the 3rd ranked team in test cricket. England are still a competitive side in home tests.
Great game & result for England, I presume stokes was mom if not he should be, who said cricket was boring after that.
A teriffic test, NZ score over 700 runs, take 20 wickets and still lose by 100+ runs.......I liked McCullums comment about dropping down the order at 12-3 as he was planning on him and Anderson having a real go at the target in the later stages.......
Who said test cricket is dead? The one day format has nothing on the real game with all it's nuances and when two competitive well-matched teams meet on an excellent pitch you get drama that is unmatched. Well done both teams and this should give the England team a great boost ahead of the Ashes...
