Looks like they are up for the fight next season....lets hope they mean it fingers crossed! http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/may/25/hull-city-relegated-championship-michael-dawson
Good to hear that they are willing to drop down and stay. I guess it will come down to the club then, if they get a good offer from another club, they might cash in to get the wage bill down.
Swansea will be the problem , Ashley Williams been in the local press down there banging on about how good Chester is at international level a couple of times.
I honestly can't see Chester staying, he's a first choice prem player and surely there'll be plenty offers for him. That £3m quoted in the paper is nowhere near enough though.
I think AA's pride will mean we aim to hold on to players and go back up. Relegation wage-cuts should help, together with 'parachute money'.
The parachute money will help with the reduced wage bill, but we owe millions in staged transfer payments, there'll be plenty of players on their way.
Chesters distribution is one of his strong points, he's brilliant with the ball. He had a bad game yesterday and at Burnley but have you not watched him over the rest of the last 4 and a half years ffs?
I reckon Chester will go someone like WBA if they offer £5 Million. We have plenty of capable championship level centre halves even if he does move on. I'm interested to see who we can bring in up front since Jela, N'doye and Hernandez won't be here in August.
This^^^ It's a pet hate of mine. So many people including some of my mates, only look at a player's last game and forget the rest. Chesters class and much too good for the championship.
Weren't the transfer fees budgeted for out of this seasons income? The estimated wage bill and transfer fees add up to there or there abouts. I don't know why we don't just pay fees up front out of the tv money and get the chains away from our necks. I don't think there'll be too much in transfer fees we'll be left liable for, there's obviously a financial strategy that doesn't depend on 'what ifs'. Allam maybe an insane nut job clown shoe mong but I think he will be financially astute. There is however his £5m (or whatever it is) interest to pay every year. Maybe he'll write next seasons payment off in attempt to bounce straight back.
We have £4 million outstanding from last season's transfer fees plus the outstanding balance from this season's fees. That could be another £14 million spread over 2 years. All guess work until the accounts are published.
