Are all council workers ****s?

They are charging about £20k to replace a cold water storage system at my flat, and were meant to start last Monday and finish by the Wednesday. On Friday they discovered a problem with the pipes (but no report or correspondance recorded) and said to be home between 3 and 6 on Saturday. They turned up at half 7 and said they couldn't turn the water back on. They've also put a big **** off hole in the roof.

In their initial bill of quantities, that we had to fight to get off them, they had put an allowance of £5000 overtime.

yes they are. they've been back and forth to the house nonstop over the past month..nearly every ****ing day. they spend a whole ****ing week doing a full house rewiring, and now on my only day off of the week the lazy sloppy ****s are replacing a ceiling.

i actually came out of the bedroom at about 9 this morning and the lazy **** was laying down flat on his back, hands behind his head, kipping out on the stairs..he quickly got up and claimed "waiting for the plasterer"

theyre pain in the ****ing ass and always leave the house like a ****ing **** pit.
 
I was off last week and took plenty of pictures with time/date stamps so I can argue they didn't do the work they say they did. Even got a few of them sleeping in their van between 10am and 3pm on the Tuesday <doh>

Any job my company does we have records of absolutely everything done. Apparently the council doesn't deem this necessary. It would seem they are answerable to nobody.

My mate is a plumber and said it would cost about £200 per flat maximum, but the council are charging each one about £1400.
 
In China they would do overtime for nowt. And if they had to do overtime they'd be shot dead.

Cooncil employees are the worst tradesmen in the country. The service is shocking. If they were a real company they would go bust in months.

My burds neighbour was cleaning her windows and the whole window fell out the opening. The cooncil said we have a big window job ongoing just now so we can't spare any jiyners to come and fix it. They boarded up her window and said they would be back in 3 months. Stupid cow kept paying rent and refused to sue them. <doh>.

After a certain time I'm pretty sure you are entitled to appoint your own contractor at the cooncils expense if they haven't made adequate progress. <ok>

those are the worst kind. they do an hours graft, they piss off and you dont see them for hours then. at the start of all this work being done, i used to be really hospitable, "want a cuppa" etc etc..now i won't even venture out of the spare room until i've gotta go out at 4. if they want something to drink they know where the shop is. always miserable looking bastards too.
 
None of them are real tradesmen either - that's why they're with the cooncil.

I had them in recently replacing all the electrics in the block of flats where I live. They would turn up, do some work, disappear for a couple of hours, do a wee bit more work, then piss off until the next day. And they left a right mess after them.

We also had them in doing the roof and it was the same story. They put up scaffolding then disappeared for about three days. They would have been as well putting up a sign saying "Free Entry for Burglars!"

Never bought the flat in January, still in my brothers flat. The council are the factors for the building, so decide when work needs done. They charged £50 per flat to cut a key to a door that doesn't lock.

Some council workers and some contractors that they use for every job. Turns out they didn't tender the job to firms....just went with the firm they wanted.
 
I pay £189.00 per month council tax.
I have lived in my street for 5 years not ONCE have I seen a council street cleaner in my street.
During the heavy snow last winter I was stuck in the house for 3 days and could not get to work I rang the council to see if they could arrange something to clear the snow as my neighbours and myself needed to get to work.
What was there reply SORRY NOT ENOUGH WORKERS/DIGGERS we had to club togather and pay a private contractor.
On my way to work the next morning I spotted a snow clearer with THREE workers in it READING a F@@king PAPER
 
the same lazy **** who was kipping on my stairs at 9 this morning has ****ed off at 11 and told me he'll be back at 1

a few years back my neighbours overflow from her boiler was leaking on to the entry to the close and it froze in to form a 150mm thick glacier, it took 2 months and an intervention from the pope to get it fixed.

we have glazed doors in alot of the rooms in my house. the wind caught one and slammed it causing the glass to smash, i called the cooncil out to fix it. the stupid cut tried to change the entire door rather than fix the glazed panel. he said it was because the building regulations mean that the door had to be a fire door(they dont), i got my copy of the building regs out and asked him to point to the page where it said that. **** was stumped <laugh> then i asked him if it had to be a fire door why was he trying to fit a pressed hardboard door which only cost about £8. useless lying scumbag ****.
 
Some private tradesman are useless too though. We had a garage conversion done by an Irish bloke recently. He said it'd take 3 and half weeks, it took 7. He used to turn at 10 and **** off at 2 at least 2 days a week. On Fridays he always finished at mid-day. And when it was St. Patrick's Day we didn't see him for 3 days. He did a decent job, but then he left a load of rubbish down the side of the house for a month once he'd finished.

should have employed an architect to oversee the works <whistle>


there are loads of **** contractors about, its quite hard to find a good one who doesnt take the piss with his prices. i know of 2 in central scotland who i would trust to do work which i was paying for and i cant count how many i wouldnt touch no matter who was paying.
 
Pah, that's nothing. I was planning papering my living room, as my neighbour had recently re-papered his (he has the same size house) I asked him how many rolls of paper he had bought.

When I finished I had 2 rolls left over and when I told my neighbour he said "That's funny, so did I".
