Man that is just how I feel about Pards. I didn't like him before he was Saints manager, I didnt like him when he was saints manager and I don't like him now.

FWIW, I think Pards is an 'interesting' character - possibly the most interesting character I've interviewed.

He's very sharp/on the ball, but clearly has a considerable air of arrogance about him and likes to toot his own horn without prompt.

I don't dislike Pardew because we will always have Wembley, he managed to piss off the Newcastle fans (though I think they were a bit deluded about that), and he always says nice things about Saints.

Back in January i said about my car being written off due to it being hit after only having it a month. Well i got the £600 back that i paid for it plus the car back. It cost me £20 to get the dent over the wheel arch knocked back in line which a friend did for me to get it through the M.O.T. The M.OT cost me £35 which it passed with no advisories and £46 for a VOSA Vehicle Identity Check so £499 profit. It still has the bigger dents but I am not worried what it looks like on the outside as long as it runs well which it does. Despite being R Reg the fact that it had a full service history doesnt need a service for another 8000 miles the Cam Belt doesnt need changing for another 50,000 miles and only 64,000 miles on the clock it was worth putting back on the road. Before my car was hit i had the AA out 3 times to it. Once because I left the lights on and twice because of punctures and I could not get the wheels off so nothing machanical and two of the 3 AA guys said you won't get a lot of problems with that car so that also swayed me to put it back on the road. The Car by the way is a Toyota Corolla 1.6. I love that car and I am so happy having it back on the road. Also OP insurance paid up so got a letter saying my no claims bonus not affected. I think ill get it protected.

    Please sign this petition

    https://www.change.org/p/kelly-simm...ow-fair-promotion-to-the-women-s-super-league

And tell all your friends, family and acquaintances.

I know most of you don't care about women's football or Portsmouth Ladies but this is not about women's football or Portsmouth Ladies, it is about justice and fair play. Something universal that can unite all fans.

This petition is about fairness and justice in the world of women's football. Even if you do not support the teams in question, or even particularly have much interest in women's football, the issue at hand is far wider than that.

With the expansion of the Women's Super League and the introduction of a second tier, this has drastically altered the shape of women's football. In affect, this has created a two-tier system between the Women's Premier League and the Women's Super League.

Last summer it was announced that the FA would give two teams in the Women's Premier League the opportunity to be promoted to the Women's Super League, one for the 2014/15 season and one for the 2015/16 season. However, the top tier of Women's Premier League is made up of two parallel divisions: the Northern Division and the Southern Division (similar to the Conference North and South in men's football). Thus it announced that this would be determined by a play-off: initially announced as two-legged, and then a one-off play-off at a neutral venue.

I believe this system is incredibly unfair and almost cruel. Both the WPL Southern Division and WPL Northern Division winners have won their respective leagues on merit, and so surely both deserve the right to be promoted? To then force two teams who have won their leagues to play each other in such a crucial match seems unfair to say the least. Furthermore, this means one club will go from the elation of winning the league to the despair of missing out on play-offs. A season which would have finished with a note of triumph and celebration, would now finish on a much bleaker note.

It is understandable that there is the need to maintain the quality on the pitch of the WSL by ensuring any teams that are promoted are able to compete, however have not these two teams proven their quality over the course of the season? In addition, the play-off is just 90 minutes of football and anything can happen in 90 minutes, it hardly seems a fair judgement of the quality of two teams. This is particularly the case as the play-off between Portsmouth and Sheffield was determined by a single goal in the last ten minutes of the game.

Play-offs themselves are not necessarily a bad thing and can add excitement and interest to the end of the season, however in men's football the play-offs consist of the teams that finish between 2-6 (depending on how many automatic promotion positions there are), thus is not something the league winners should have to go through. This is how it should be: if a club wins the league, it should gain promotion. It would not be accepted if teams such as Bournemouth, Bristol City (or to give an example of two teams that play in parallel divisions), Bromley and Barrow won their respective leagues and then were forced to play a play-off which meant they might not even get promotion, therefore it should not be tolerated in women's football either.

To sum up the demands of this petition:

    • Portsmouth FC Ladies (champions of the Women's Premier League Southern Division) should be promoted to the Women's Super League alongside Sheffield FC Ladies
    • For the 2015/16 season, rather than having promotion determined by a play-off between the winners of the WPL Southern Division and WPL Northern Division, each division should be given one automatic promotion place, given to the champions of that division
n.b. This petition is not supported or endorsed by Portsmouth FC Ladies or any other women's football club

PL, I just read the article, and can't really see where the injustice is. I take it the super league is a national one, so it makes sense that there should be a playoff, because each regional winner has only had to win over half the country to win their respective league, hence a play off to establish the overall winner to be promoted to the national one....maybe its just me but this seems logical.

Rules are rules PL, even when they don't fall in your favour. This is the same as complaining about the voting system after the Tories got elected. You knew about this system before it happened, why didn't you start a petition then?Would you have complained with the same vociferousness had Pompey won? Course not.

Fair point, but why do not the winners of the Conference North and South play each other then?

There is no injustice, they just didn't win, so it became an injustice all of a sudden.

Fair question: tbh, I didn't think the FA would actually go through with this stupid play-off. Or if they did, would announce afterwards that they would give both teams promotion. The FA changed their mind before so could have done so again, but that looks unlikely now hence the petition. I've been complaining about the play-offs for weeks, and I had decided that I was going to create a petition regardless of the result.

I bet Lewis Hamilton is absolutely fuming at his team. Dominated the whole weekend and an error of judgement (not his) cost him the win.

Didn't someone from pits say they misjudged the gap and it was their fault?

Yep and Hamilton told them he wanted to come in. It was a bad mistake, but the fuss being made is absurd and all the conspiracy stuff is embarrassing. He'll still win the championship, and his £27m a year contract should ease the blow somewhat (and put paid to the notion that Merc don't want him to win...)

I agree that the conspiracy stuff is ridiculous, but surely as a driver you rely on your team making the right call whether you have time to come in or not? Frustrating for him though as he said he could of had double the lead but was 'taking it easy' to minimize chance of mistakes.

Yep, incredibly frustrating, but then so is an own goal when you're dominating a game of football. The (mainly media generated) fuss about what is a genuine, if daft, mistake is ridiculous.

I'm still not hooked at all. In fact, the Beeb did a series called The White Queen, which I didn't see when broadcast, but I've been watching quite recently, and that has got me hooked far easier.
