Hit the nail on the head. Gerrard and Sterling seemed to have masked the awful run of 8 points from 9 games. I suppose it had to take a result like yesterday for people to really take notice.

Agreed - looking at Sterling, I know everyone was angry at the way he handled it but look at the crux at the problem - why does he want to leave? It's the clubs fault.
weeeeellll.. why does he want to leave is probably multifaceted but a lot falls on the club 1. why start in october? 2. why talk about it in press conferences when a standard in process answer would do. 3. We can't assume all leaks were lfc, agent was very active 4. what was original offers? 5. why big up the player before he was signed up? 6. why buy trash players and put them round him. 7. why move to secure best 3 lfc players in coutinho, henderson and sterling this season not last summer when time was right? 8. does he really want to win things or is he just wanting the easy way? why court arsneal if he wants to win stuff and the list goes on. My view is he's been very badly handled by an agent who thinks the approach taken for his boxing clients will work for team sport. The real thig is i said back in jan if he was not signed up by end of month sell... its only got worse since and frankly too much has been said on it.
We have offered Tore a contract extension. Never wanted to sign him in the first place and now it looks like we will be stuck with him for an etra year. What happened to our ambition, signing has beens and letting young players leave.
Normally I'd say he make for a decent fourth choice option but we have Wisdom, Ilori and Coates who could all fulfill that role.

for me this should be on hold until jun 3 meeting. If he is signed ofr another year is says it was done with rodgers staying... right now if it is not signed i'd be having a bit of a delay. Overall I just don't think he'lll do anything bar play in europa... i suppose thats 8 games he can save someone from but is that enough for his keep?
Agree with that, any new deals suggest Brod stays. I think he wants to keep Toure for the experience in the dressing room.
dunno about that. I have a bad opinion of coates after oldham debacle but if he's going to come back in preseason and give it a go sure why not. I am hopeful he will cost sunderand 7mil or something stupid. Ilori not so sure. in u21s he looked dodgy then went on two big loans and spent the time injured. he's played a bit in france but how can we say he's ready... surely a look in preseason is what we should say.
Contadicting my comment on Coates a little, I remember he played DM in a couple of friendlies last summer and people were reasonably impressed. I did not see the games myself.
