!00% intelligent last game of the season that was expected....stay injury free was the aim while tryig to get a goal that if it came all well and good but if it didn't then no harm done on a nothing game....

    Ridiculous.
If that's the case then the only matches that should have actually gone ahead today were the Hull and Newcastle games.
As far as I'm concerned the players are paid very well and are under contract to do a job.
Disgusting attitude. You say 'some learn from it' -what really is going on is that some have come to accept it.

    :emoticon-0148-yes:
Fab – couldn’t have done more some good goalkeeping

Naughton – rusty and taken apart at times but decent enough on his return and a few brave attempts to go forward

Fed – Argentinean international or not he needs Ash alongside him messed up today more than he made up. Did a lot of good but got caught out, was weak in too many challenges.

Bartley - Started well and did as well as expected for a player who has been out for so long but was all at sea for their goal. Nasty looking cut.

Jazz – had a rough time, but given he’s an unwanted midfield player & part time right back playing left back he had a decent game.

Cork – mixed but had a lot to do, played a few good attacking passes but they were lost on Bafe.

Leon - mixed but had a lot to do, made a few characteristic plays but another who was rusty.

Montero – disinterested from the warm up, one good run but the less said about his crosses the better.

Nathan – well marked and didn’t have a good game but with so many changes no midfield to speak of not unexpected.

Emnes – excellent MOM by a mile for endeavour & effort, only he, Cork & Fabianski showed much pride today

Bafe – another who looked like he wanted to be with Siggy, Ash, Jonjo & Taylor.

Grimes, Gorre & Barrow had neither the time or the supportive players to make an impact.

Well, 11 hours on the road (OK so I had a family meet up as well) for that.

I know the Monkees will be creaming over the boss’ decision to ‘rest’ players but the truth is there was grumbling about the starting line up even before kick off and a few free shirts were left outside the ground.

Pardew showed his experience by giving the fans something to cheer right to the end. No ‘meaningless game’ rubbish, no resting players who will be having a couple of months of down time from 5 o’clock, no disrespect for fans who had made a big effort on a bank holiday weekend to support the team. Palace even kept the grass long (slips and slowing of the ball – Jazz most noticeably got the worst of that with his pass to Fabianski, but it affected players on both sides particularly in the second half). I suppose Palace had little to play for but they had a full team and serious intent, Chelsea ‘had nothing to play for’ but won 3 – 1, Man U picked a very strong team with enough intent to pick up two yellows and a red card, Leicester had little ‘to play for’ but a first team picked up 5 goals, Arsenal ‘had nothing to play for’ and scored 4, Stoke got 6.

Given today’s team selection and with players, Monk and the club saying they didn’t want 6th it seems that once the manager got his little bit of history he was left with ‘nothing to play for’. A big up yours to the fans who, while trying to support the team, were generally more interested in the idiots getting thrown out in the second half than the game. Well done to everyone who showed some passion and sang as much as was reasonable.

Gossip (only gossip and may or may not be true) but Fabianski wasn’t on speaking terms to anyone after the game.

The Swans were not the only team not to perform e,g, Liverpool. Anybody who thought that this would be a full on performance must have arrived from the planet Dippy.

I didn't see yesterday's game so can't comment. However, true to form, when we lose you let another dig at Monk creep into your posts.

Like I say, we'd have been stuck on 48 points if Monk gave up after making his little bit of history, as you like to put it.

OK you win - and everyone who supported the team yesterday were stupid to think we might try to win the game. Pardew was a fool to attempt to win the game or give Palace supporters something positive to end the season on.
The desire to avoid Europa League has been there for a while & professional pride together with respect for supporters was lacking. Maybe the club thinks 57 points next season will be another record breaking year for the manager but 60 would be a step too far.
Yes I am a 'nutter' especially when I'm screaming support from the stands.

Credit to those who did go but the reality is that nothing was going to change yesterday whatever the result. Most of the 13,500 approx season ticket holders who didn't go were more concerned that no one got injured in this nothing game and that our star players go away have an enjoyable holiday and come back refreshed ready for the important next season. If there had been somehting on this game then of course we would have had a different view and attitude

    bob old chummy,

What an ungrateful little chummy you are and with such a selective memory too, put the drugs down boy.

Lucky for you bob old chummy, I have a vast memory and can help you but my intellect has not come easily, I've had to work hard for it. Garry Monk has worked hard too. All season he has worked his magic and has squeezed every last drop of sweat and effort from his players/squad which is evident by our achievements this year. It is Garrys' hard work which has been the catalyst to our success.

As wum bob, since Monks arrival you and your chummys have chosen to attack him by snidely putting down any of his, or our our successes and any thing good you say always has a negative and barbed caveat attached.

You are blind to the joys of this year and, you and yours, are deaf to the praise which has been heaped on Garry Monk. One saving grace though you and your chummys bitterness brings ME so much joy :emoticon-0140-rofl:

Bobs latest bollox - In your latest effort to guiltlessly sneak up and stab Monk in the back you have turned your bile onto our magnificent away supporters. It is despicable that you have the arrogance, surmounted only by your ignorance, to turn on, question and disrespect the loyalty and behaviour of our magnificent away supporter and label them 'idiots'.

FROM FIRST HAND ACCOUNT, these 'idiots' you refer to were themselves attacked and racialy abused by groups of Palace thugs who had infiltrated 'our end'.

Our supporters were pushed, pulled, punched, had bottles of p1ss thrown at them and racially abused by Palace thugs only to be physically and verbally abused a second time by thugs in hi-viz jackets who, not touching the Palace thugs, dragged ours out and in groups pinned them to the ground.

It is reprehensible of you to attempt to use our magnificent supporters simply as pins to stick in your voodoo doll. In your defence though bob old chummy, what would you know about supporting the Swans? your "entertain me or I'll cry" attitude is not that of a true and honest Swansea City Football Club fan or supporter and just adds to your ignorance.

More of bobs bollox - 'Swansea shirts' were thrown to the floor in disgust outside the Palace ground by Swansea supporters unhappy at selection. A flagrant lie bob old chummy.

Even more of bobs bollox - "Gossip - but Fabianski wasn’t on speaking terms to anyone after the game" <laugh> <laugh> <laugh> Anything to back it up bob? or is this again proving to us all what an utter tool you actually are.

In case you want to reply and Gob forbid, back up your utter tripe with a fact ot two, this technique might help you. Kids worldwide have benefited from it and its called the 5W's technique.

The 5W's? - Who, What, Where, Why, When.

Apply any, some or all to any of bullsh1t you write bob old chummy, using them to help you construct a valid, fact based argument.

Looking forward to your, or any of your chummys, response to any of the above.

Or, something else you can do bob old chummy, you can get off your rocking horse and go out to play.

Seems to me that the team selection was governed by upcoming internationals. With Wales playing a vital qualifying game in 3 weeks, Williams and Taylor didn't play. Haven't checked what Iceland are doing but the same might apply with Sigurdsson. Maybe Chris Coleman had an input.

Without sounding harsh, anyone who went yesterday expecting a full-blooded performance is being naive IMO.

Bob doesn't say what he does through being naive, he is just a bitter fool and I am so happy that our most successful season in the Premier League is causing him so much misery.

We went there to win the game but you can tell they were not going to risk injury for anyone on the last game with nothing to play for, win, draw or lose we were always going to finish 8th...job done and everyone can go on holiday except those playing for their country fit and healthy.....circumstances have always come into play on the last game....
