Another Messi goal against La Coruna. Just need Valencia to score against Almeria now - or Granada to score, which they are looking ever more likely to do.

Twists and turns... La Coruna equalise against Barcelona, pushing Eibar back down into the drop zone...

La Coruna equalise! Granada still staying up as things stand by virtue of their superior head-to-head record over Eibar

    Barca taken it too easy!

Almeria losing now which is good.

Both teams happy to pass the ball to & fro across the pitch - both playing for a draw. no pressing whatsoever.

Even if they win, they could lose - they face a CAS tribunal on Tuesday over non-payment of transfer fees. FIFA have imposed a three point deduction which will be decided then.

    Naughty!

Is that a bit like Bassini and the Danny Graham stuff?

Absolutely remarkable escape by Granada, with 3 wins and a draw from their final 4 games.

Three Pozzo clubs playing in the top flight next season - wonderful <cheers>

All over - Granada safe. A miracle really, considering where they were recently.

It would have been a shame to let one of the three drop. Well done Granada!

How complicated is their league position system though? To the untrained eye you need a maths degree! Or certainly an amazing memory of past results. Goal difference being about 4th or 5th on the list!

Oh I don't know! I like the logic of teams level on points having their positions decided on the results between those teams.

Yes but prior to the last round of matches Granada were above Deportivo due to their superior results between each other yet despite both drawing Granada dropped below Deportivo whilst staying above Eibar due to it becoming a mini league between the three of them yet had it been between just Granada and Eibar then Eibar would have stayed up and Grenada gone down. Still follow? :)
