When you look at the teams that have bounced straight back, by and large they've kept their key players and heir squads intact. If the finances will allow it, we should definitely do the same. There's no point letting Tom Huddlestone leave for 2 million quid then getting James Harper in to replace him. The ones who are adamant they want to stay in the premier league we should try to loan for a year so should we get straight back we already have them and don't have to go through the process of a complete squad overhaul two years on the trot.
Jakupovic has another year left, he's probably happy to stay as third choice or back up. Townsend could come in at left back if we lose Robertson, he's played at a decent enough level so he should be ready for the first team now.
Can't remember if I read it on here but someone said we should buy players that want to step up and not down and I agree with that. Young players who want to make mark like Chester and Brady were when we got them.
Yeah, I know...'he's taken a team down again.' A factually correct statement .....never learned from the first time.... Brum bounced back...Can he do it again ? Lets hope so..
If I were West Ham, I'd be looking at Sean Dyche. They play in the same colours, so it wouldn't confuse David Cameron.
McGregor, Huddlestone, Livermore, BenArfa and Hernandez have all robbed a wage this season. The others you can give various reasons for their performances this year but not these five, they should be sold for whatever little value they now have except BenArfa of course.
in the championship i'd be happy to see the back of Hernandez , Livermore , Huddlestone players i expect to leave us are Chester , Hernandez , Diame , N'Doye , Ince , Brady , Huddlestone , Elmohamady ,McGregor , Harper , Jelavic gutted ,as most of those i expect to leave i would be happy to keep.
I dont read that as he is leaving. I read that as he is apologizing for relegation as he feels a strong connection to the fan base. I wouldnt read into it to find a hidden meaning. I would have expected this type of tweet from him if today didnt work out for us.
McGregor Elmohamady NEW CB Dawson NEW LB NEW RM Huddlestone Meyler Snodgrass Aluko NEW ST I can see Jelavic (5m), N'Doye (3m), Brady (4m), Chester (6m) and Robertson (8m) leaving you. You'd come straight back up with that team I reckon. But I do think that the loser of tomorrow's play-off final will walk the league. I don't think it's been as poor as it will be next season for a long while. It's an excellent opportunity for you to regroup and come back stronger. What could be your saving grace is that you've got a lot of talent who won't be in that much demand because of a poor season. One confidence boosting Championship season could do you the world of good.
The way David Burns was talking on RH,about McShane having played his last game for city, sounded like he had some inside knowledge of what's going on with him.
Heres my list for what its worth:- To Stay: Dawson, Rosenior, Quinn, Meyler, Elmo, Brady, Jelavic, McShane, Snodgrass, Harper, Ince, Bruce, Maguire. The rest can go in my opinion.
