Nobody in Sky, BBC or Talkshite want to talk about Liverpool or Rodgers. Typical.

7? Care to explain that one.. are you including the ones equivalent to the Charity shield because I think he had about 20 attempts at the big one and won it twice...

This is why he has to go now, he's already had his big Summer and decided to revamp the squad other than buying quality to replace Suarez. He has to live with that choice now and add quality with 3 or 4 players. If he thinks he can go out and buy 6 or 7 players again then he's dreaming. He has to stick with his signings and add quality.

I've said previously that he could get sacked based on his targets and I think that may well be the case, if he goes to FSG with a request to start again and spend shed loads on lots of players he'll get the boot.

If he goes with quality and experience he may get a chance but that's all depending on if he's still the manager anyway.

I guess only big clubs concentrate on the big prize, small European clubs have to take what they can and claim the mickey mouse trophies as important ones eh <whistle>

What you on about? Gerrard had a certain influence but it was a team effort to come back against Milan, Rafa was the manager so gets some of the credit. I know it's wum time but c'mon stop looking to talk bollox and make up nonsense.

Ironically I think that's the thing that might keep him in his job. With the number of players he brought in, FSG may be loathed to want another clearout if they bring in someone else.

Any decent manager will see a decent squad that he needs to add quality to, if he doesn't see that then he shouldn't be the next manager.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers: "I have always said if the owners want me to go I will go. But I still feel I have a lot of offer here. There is a lot that's happened there this year that has made the job tough.
"Performances like today don't help me and I'm fully aware of that."
Rodgers signed a new long-term deal last summer. If the owners want him to go, he will go with a chunky pay-off.

My main issue with Rodgers is not playing his signings, and the ones he does play, play in the wrong position.

    Mignolet
    Manquillo Lovren Sakho Moreno
    Lucas
    Can Hendo
    Ibe Coutinho Markovic

Wouldn't have minded something like that today. Young hungry players, playing in positions they like (bar Coutinho), look forward to next year

Ah come on gonzo it doesnt work like that. Managers have their own individual style. He'll keep players like Coutinho, Henderson, Sturridge, Ibe but I'm not talking about them. How many from those bought last summer would a new manager fancy keeping is the thing.

Markovic - shown potential. First season in and out of side, played in wrong position. Needs a year playing where he should be playing, not at RWB.
Can - looks a player in midfield, not a defender and certainly not a RB!
Lovren - Would like to see played alongside Sakho and not Skrtel. Him and Skrtel are far too similar to play together.
Moreno - was hot property last year - has attributes to be decent attacking full back, but had a shocker defending but has been played LWB which is new. Needs a season and some serious competition at LB - but new league, still very young so potential is there.

Lambert/Balotelli - both need to go. Don't suit us.

So from those, 4 i'd be happy to keep next year (can't write them off after 1 year, especially a new league for most).

You are probably right but imo we have a squad that lacks experience in the right positions, there's no need to start again we have a lot of talented youngsters who just need that experience and quality around them.

I wasnt questioning how good they are tbh. Just that they may not fit into a new manager's plans. Something similar to Rodgers himself when he first arrived.

(Can and Markovich were good signings btw)
