Whoever made that call needs to go to F1 Strategy 101 class. Give up track position for tyres... at Monaco... idiots.
They deserve subjecting to a Laudering. Which is what they will get. I am so ****cking disappointed this afternoon. The lack of justice burns.
Well Hamilton doesn't have anything to be ashamed of, he did everything right, poll lap. I think he did the two fastest laps in the poll shoutout. Opened over twenty seconds to second placed team mate even though team mate had the first call to pit. Hamilton should be proud anyway.
Lewis taking it very well, or at least making out to the press that he is 'okay' with it but disappointed, nothing can change what has happened etc A few years ago at Monaco it was 'is it because I is black'? The transformation of Lewis is complete.
Not a great race and whilst it is good to throw up surprises, I do think this pit lane nonsense is one of the most unjust things in the sport. Even more annoying is Rosberg wooping and then saying its one of those things, the smarmy ****wit. I'm not Hamiltons biggest fan but Rosberg is ridiculous.
I think they should be asked to sit out a few races. I am almost sure it isn't Hamilton's race engineer, I doubt he could make that decision on his own. And he sounded quite disappointed when Hamilton asked what's going on here guys...
I'm sorry about that, Lewis," his engineer Peter Bonnington said to him over the radio. "I'll have to have a word with the pit wall." So who was responsible?
Blood on the carpet time. please log in to view this image BBC Oh to be a fly on the wall for this debrief! As Jennie Gow tweets:"Debrief has begun already."
“There is nothing else to do than apologise to Lewis,” said Wolff, “it was a misjudgement in the heat of the moment”. “I’m sorry for Lewis that we made the mistake and I’m sorry for Lewis. It should have been a perfect one-two today. We made a decision and it was the wrong decision. We need to analyse it and to apologise to Lewis.” “I’m sure we’ll sit down afterwards and try and think of ways we can improve,” said Hamilton after the podium ceremony. “It was not the easiest of races,” he added. “The team has been amazing all year long. We win and lose together. I’m just grateful for the job they did. Congratulations to Nico and Sebastian.” What is there tI sit down and analyse? It is simple...everyone on the pit wall had brain fade..nothing to analyse.
Very interesting comments by Lauda on German TV: – very angry at Mercedes management; – ‘too many cooks..’ – disappointed with Lowe for not stepping in.
I don't get why they felt the need to take the risk. There was nothing to gain and everything to lose. They gambled for nothing.
If there was a threat but there was none... Hamilton was so quick before the safety car. There was no reason...maybe they thought the race had just begun...lol
Ross Brawn was always needed. The team is a publicity specialist and nothing more without him. Yes there are too many cooks.
