Rosberg will have to start the race on those tyres. **** up.

Looking pretty good for pole though.

    Why Rosberg? Why?

It would've been nice to have a mclaren in q3 once this season.

AG beat me to it, that lock up will really screw Rosberg over at the start of the race. But then it's not like you can pass here, so he'll probably be fine to lead a procession.

When everything was going wrong for Lewis Hamilton in Q2. This was his response..... "Guys let's calm down and reset for the next run"...... Seems Lewis has really matured. He didn't panic, and he sounded really calm when he told them what he thought the problems were and the race engineer basically accepted the team made a mistake. So they did some adjustments and boom! Poll.

By the way..it is very possible that Rosberg has played a very smart hand here. Ok he will start the race behind Hamilton on the tyres that must be flat spotted. Isn't it possible he will make a complaint a bit early in his first stint forcing Mercedes to bring him in and then he can change to the soft tyre, have track position and try to run to the end of the race? It is not impossible because that trace isn't hard on tyres. Maybe we will see another bit of controversy tomorrow.

Why is everyone saying Rosberg has to start on them tyres? They were brand new and he didnt even finish a flying lap on them! His tyres are perfectly fine for the race.

And the undercut strategy (going by gp2 races) won't work this race as the softs take too long to heat up. If I was Rosberg, I'd be saving my tyres until Hamilton pits and then put in a couple of really good laps while Hamilton is warming his up and then overcut him. Not saying it's going to happen, as I doubt it will. But it's not over yet.

Just watching the BBC highlights and noticed something weird. The FOM cameras and directors/editors are actually showing Manor cars!!!!!! I wonder what has changed? Any one any ideas?

I guess you didn't noticed the big flat spots then. I am sure he is going to have some vibration from the even though they will be scrubbed. Also you didn't noticed that Hamilton was able to heat up the soft tyres straight away and he was really quick on the softs.

The lap that he went off which caused the yellow flag aren't the tyres that he's starting on. The lap that he did his best lap on was a completely different set, so he hasn't got a flat spot.

I think he also had a lock up in that run too after he put in his lap. I think ran off on both runs in q2

Apologies di Fredsta... I think I got it wrong, you are correct. He locked up in the final run in Q2 and the final run in Q3. You are correct.

Comfortable Hamilton win. On this forum, elaborate mental gymnastics are employed to avoid giving him the best driver award.:1980_boogie_down:

Procession, I think I'll record the GP and watch the highlights, if Hamilton gets to the first corner first and his car stays together (and he doesn't get any dirt in his left eye!) he'll most likely walk the race, even if cars behind are quicker they can't really get by!

I think the issue for Merc - especially here - is they are unlikely/loathe to give either of the drivers an alternative strategy meaning in reality it is just a race to the 1st corner. In affect they are imposing team orders (either way) after only 300 meters of racing which is simply not sporting.

I think once the first corner is over it'll be a wait for the first stops. Then it's all about switching on the new tyres quickly. whoever is P1 will want a gap to P2 just in case.

Although it'll probably be a safety car stacked pit.
