That's not critical evaluation, they're just excuses.

By saying that you were expecting to struggle with CL football, the fact you point to other managers, the fact you talk about net spend - you're just confirming the point that you look for excuses rather than hold anything or anyone at your club to account.

Just one example. Rather than look at net spend consider the fact Rodgers spent double digit millions for each one of several players. He bought more players than the other top 4 clubs iirc. You could argue that he bought poorly, not just the players but the philosophy of going for quantity over quality. But I bet you'll defend all except Balotelli...and even then bcos the player's the easy target rather than the club or the manager.

I have no clue what Rodgers spent and won't until the committee and FSG's instructions are explained

The majority of people who called for Rodgers Out haven't got a ****ing clue if another manager would be dealing with the exact same transfer strategy

I hold the owners to account, though I expect that is more a lack of football experience since they've been good to their word on getting Anfield developed

He spent £117m as part of a 3 man committee on which he has final veto. He helped to pick the players to fit his system/team.

The owners are ultimately responsible for picking a man who is out of his depth.

I find the excusing of Rodgers while blaming committee the ultimate paradoxical position anyone could take

Totally agree with this. Astro has so many excuses for brendon its as if anything that went wrong isnt brendons fault. It wasnt his fault that liverpool wasted 120m. I'm guessing it wasnt his fault lallana and lovren cost that much (anyone who thinks those are committee buys are bonkers). It wasnt his fault pool got humiliated by basle and ludogretz.

His argument for pool finishing 5th is that the squad and wages are the 5th most expensive as if being par exonerates him. In terms of performances against teams with less budgets its not good enough.

I guess chelsea fans could exonerate mourinho to losing to psg since I'm pretty sure their team is more expensive than ours so to even go out on away goals is an achievement. Nope what the chelsea fans did was criticize him for his poor tactics and his lack of team preparations.

Astro we are not saying you need to be in the rodgers out camp like mito and jimmy but to gloss over everything rodgers does incorrectly is what you and UIR do. No one forced rodgers to not adapt his tactics. No one forces rodgers to play can at rb and glen johnson at lb. No one makes rodgerd play gerrard everytime hes fit and for 90 minutes every game.

The owners have backed him to the tune of £217m in 3 seasons.

He sits on the fabled committee and holds the ultimate veto over whether a player arrives at Anfield or not.

To use spending and the committee as an excuse for his failure to invest that money wisely and sustainably is ridiculous and nothing more than delusional.

Veto means nothing, e.g. the following situation:

Rodgers: My first target is Sanchez
Committee: We can't match his wages, but Balotelli is willing to take a pay cut to come

Veto=no player, no time for other deals
No veto=take a chance the player is better than nobody

The sustainability comment is ******ed, we have an exceptionally young squad and consistent promotion of youth to first team.

    My sustainability comment was ******ed?

Lallana, Lovren, Balotelli, Borini, paid £72m

    Worth today? About £30m tops.

As for your scenario, that's what every manager is the land faces you dolt, it's called financial reality.

    "I'd like Sanchez"

He won't come / we can't afford him (I don't believe the latter btw)

" who else is available then?"

That's just how the transfer market works ffs, it's not something that poor old Brendan is having to suffer because he's got a committee of supposed experts to help him identify the best targets available.
