Maybe they're trying to stretch it out as much as possible so there isn't a gap of few years between the series' while waiting for the next book to be finished?

I reckon a break of 3 or 4 years between a series would kill some of the interest in it, which is something they'd want to avoid.

Also alot of the cast would age too much, like they have done already. Not to mention some of the older cast members could die off (although they don't seem to have a problem recasting characters)

I think therefore prequel series would be good.

The thing is though.... do that and..... well it'd be an action packed single series and make the current series look ****e

Never thought about the age issue. That could affect how the series comes over but lets not forget Robb Stark was supposed to be a teenager in it, wasn't he? Or that's what someone told me anyway, haven't read the books myself.

    True, better characters as well.

Pretty much any character that is young is about 3-4 years younger than they look on the TV show. Sansa is supposed to be 14, Daenerys is 16, Robb was 16-17. And the list goes on and on.

I'd love to see a film about Roberts Rebellion, it would have to be a CG movie tho (ala Beowulf).
They can use the actors' likenesses (Sean bean, Charles Dance, Mark Addy) but age them down and get the actors to voice their younger selves

Also they should get an aged up Benedict Cumberbatch to play the Mad King....think he'd be great.

Watched it again yesterday and can't wait for War of the Planet of the Apes. This is the type of reboot that really works.

No, would completely break any sort of connection to the show if they recast everyone.
Wouldn't be interested in that in the slightest.

    Well......

tyrell lannister? that cannot find someone 20-30 years younger?

    Seasn bean ok...

    Robert? **** casting day one.

It'd be like as i said spartacus... they decided after season one that the main guy announced he'd got testicular cancer so they recast but they went back in time as the reaction to batiatus character was so positive that they killed him but could not just kill him so they simply went back to before the first series started.

Or remake of star trek... ok sure its like decades later but aside from scotty where casting was rank it was fine for what it was (bad lazy writing though)

I think do it right and it'd be a great series

2nd is more about the Apes, Serkis and Toby Kebbell are both fantastic as Caesar and Koba (both Characters in the first film) and its their performances that really sell the film.

so thinking on it.... it can only be say right 5 years since the start of show and then how long since jamie lannister stabbed the king in the back? 15 years? more?

can't be much more or blondie would not be born.

I would say that'd give enough options. also look at the season 5 premiere....

    they've already done it.
