It is Saturday, there is no Canary football and I am again bored sh*tless, so in the garden I thought what one thing would I have changed to make the UK a better place overall and my contribution to this debate is - Tabloid Newspapers. In my view they have succeeded in trivialising everything and having a braindead effect on the population as a whole. Sporting people are either hero or zero and this can vary from match to match. Politically they are trying to railroad opinion in a way that is unbelievable (I know you don't have to buy into it but they are continuous. Please see page 3 of the Mail today!). They stoke up issues often based on Chinese whispers and report it like it is Gospel, immigration and benefit fraud for example has been overplayed to death. The issues are imprtant but it needs a balanced debate not some overpaid journalist talking pish. They spend more time on bloody soaps than issues that could really have a potentially serious impact on the UK like Syria for example. Every story headline now is a pun and that is so overdone now. They have taken away (or at least have tried) our sense of balance and fairness and I genuinely believe that the country would be a hell of a lot better without them. Over to you please......
The newspapers are full of ****. How can any football fan be 'bored ****less' on the play off Bank Holiday weekend? That and a Test Match and and the Monaco Grand Prix... It's a great weekend of sport. UTB
Because we have to wait until Monday for the game and waiting sucks. No NCFC game on a Saturday is always a bit boring.
Fully agree. The sooner we get rid of the scaremongering, lie spinning, outrageously inappropriate and frankly now, unnecessary tabloid bollocks the better we'll all be.
Supermarkets. Soulless. A necessary evil though in this day and age I'm afraid. Bring back the old style shop that did one thing well and one thing only. And if I can have two goes ' raw celery'
Grand Prixs, I used to love 'em as a kid. Brabham,Hill,Clark,Stewart,Hunt. What are they now? Electronic processions where the team that has spent the most money wins. Tabloids I don't know about I read The Telegraph and ignore their rancid poiltics...Oh,and raw celery!
Today's TV sitcoms not a patch on yesteryear. One exception to the rule I've found however is Peter Kaye's 'Car Share' real LOL that. Did anyone else catch the 'Doggin' episode?
Bottled water. People complain about the price of petrol and then pay more per litre for something they can get out of the tap. Mental. Marketing gone insane. People who oppose gm crops because they think we are setting ourselves up as gods when every crop and every breed we raise has been genetically selected by us as a species over the centuries. Crop tops on pre-pubescents. Social services should just scoop the kids up to save time in the long run. Militant anything. Believe whatever nonsense you want just don't go on about or try to impose your views on others. PPI calls. Russell Brand
Aggressive away stewards, **** off...overpriced **** beer in away pubs, **** off...Millwall and Leeds, **** off...giving a trophy to the winners of the play off final whilst the team that came second get nothing, **** off...
My first choice would also be the tabloids, including Rupert Murdoch and his poisonous policies. Bottled water is another good shout. Hell, this hasn't passed much time while waiting for Monday!
