In the books Sansa does not marry Bolton. Cersci sends an imposter who Ramsay does more than rape...he basically tortures her for weeks, a lot more gruesome than the series.

That the one the witch wanted to sacrifice or what?

They lack really strong characters outside of jon snow so that's why cercei is annoying. She is a strong evil character but just doing stupid things

Glad I'm not the only who thinks that. Her story arc has just become irritating.

Anyone else wondering why we haven't seen Bran. We spent all that time waiting for him to finish his boring trip up beyond the wall and when we finally get there... Nothing.

I would say that what will occur is that cercei will eventually try to reign in her zealots and suddenly realise she can't

    Should be fun.

With not many episodes to go worst season of GOT by far.

1 episode of Fargo left really good show but should be left at one season, something tells me it won't be.

I dunno, I wasnt too keen on Season 4, only eps 6 , 8 and 9 were good.
    First 3 seasons owned.
Same with the books, loved the first 3, the last 2, not so much.

I think thrones is suffering due to impasse in the good characters and the stories about **** characters being... dull?

A normal TV show would never ever have killed rob stark. He was the archetypal hero.

Jamie lannister story is in fact dull boring and listless as he still ****ed his sister and now is worthless fighter so really he is pointless and worse weak so this whole rescue someone who didn't need rescuing that no viewer gives a toss about story hurts the show.

Tyrian is a good character but where he is now is..... wtf... are you serious.. a normal show again would have simply deposited that crate at the foot of blondes throne and moved on.

The jon snow stortyline does make sense that is a growth of his character that is ongoing

    The cercei stuff is ridiculous

I just feel that there's nothing happening at this point and it's almost over. I complain sometimes of series that are too long but this is the opposite, if there were lets say 8 episodes left I'd be happy with the pace of it and happy that there is time to move the story on but this is going to be a one big episode thing and then wait a year for more. Very poor.

There has been the suggestion on GOT sites that Jon Snow is not Ned Stark's son at all. He is in fact the son of the mad king who Jamie Lannister killed, and Stark brought him back to Winterfell and said he was his son to protect him. Will Jon Snow or King Roberts bastard, (the blacksmith apprentice) end up king...who knows, who cares, who gives a f**k anyway!

He is not the Mad King's son, he is the Mad Kings grandson.
He is the son of Rhaegar Targaryen, the Mad Kings son who was married to Elia Martell.
When Rhaegar "kidnapped" Lyanna Stark, it wasnt a kidnapping, she went willingly because she loved him and he loved her, he was in a loveless marriage to Elia Martell and Lyanna was betrothed to Robert Baratheon but didnt love him.
Lyanna got pregnant with Rhaegars kid and when Ned found her after Robert killed Rhaegar (who is also Daenerys brother), she was dying from childbirth.
Lyanna made him swear on her deathbed that he promise to protect the kid ("Promise me Ned!") as they both knew that if he was a known Targaryen offspring, Robert would have had him killed.
So he lied and said he was a bastard he had fathered, took him home and raised him and named him Jon Snow.
Did it not ever clock on to anyone that Ned, the most noble man in Westeros who would rather die than break a vow, would bed some tavern wench and cheat on his wife, as bullshit?

That's Thrones all over in every season, and in the books, have one big penultimate or final episode where all the meaty stuff happens and everything that goes before it is just build and getting characters into the places they need to be to make an exciting finale. It wastes so much time setting situations up in lieu of actual action. This season is especially bad I agree. For example, the stuff with Arya Stark training at the base of the faceless men could've been finished in one or two episodes yet they drag it out for the whole season, same with Jaime and Bron getting to Dorn and Tyrion / whatshisface Jorah that's it going to Meereen. Personally I think Martin is a total con-artist as a writer and not having an ending to the thing as a whole is affecting how they produce the tv show

He has no incentive to end it though thats the problem.
Every book that comes out, every new season of the show, he is raking in millions of dollars.
He isnt going to want that to end.

He said he intended writing 11 books to tell the full story, based on his age this is not going to happen. The series has already caught up with the books, albeit some characters have been moved around a bit to make it easier to make the TV version.

He has apparently given a synopsis of each of the remaining books to the makers of the series so that if he pops his clogs they can continue the story roughly as he envisaged it.

I'd assumed that he would be Roberts bastard son and he and blind would end up fighting then riding.

I never thought the ned stark line was anything but a set up.

In any event 3 episodes to go.

I can see a 5 year break in this series somehow

However one strong possibility is they do a Spartans on this and do a prequel.

The whole mad king line could be explored with you Robert, young ned, young lannister etc etc

I'd actually half expect that has to be done at some point as Martin won't be ready
