Well done french government, brilliant idea. http://www.theguardian.com/world/20...ermarkets-to-give-away-unsold-food-to-charity
Indeed. Quite radical and, in a way, typically French. I can't think of another European country that would do this. Scandinavian yes. The French are not afraid to do their own thing. Well done them.
I can see the German government following suit one day as their leftwing/green lobby is pretty strong but yes, too many countries wouldnt do it unfortunately. Here in Oz we dont generally have that kind of issue as all the supermarkets will reduce prices on fresh food by up to 80% the closer it gets to the expiry date. I think the rest gets chucked but the majority of it gets sold beforehand.
I do hope you're not trying to make a cheap point there LTL. I'm quite aware that Sweden, etc... are part of Europe, but they are Scandinavia as a region as distinct from the accepted main part of northern/southern Europe. Do I have to trot out intricate detail on a football forum to make an opinion, these days..?
Wife took me shopping this morning. We walked into a store and she started picking up things and taking them towards the changing room for me to try on. I was confused and asked what she was doing. She said that she wanted to see them on me. I explained that men don't shop like that. We walk into shop, pick up what we like in the right size (having checked the slightly less liked design isn't cheaper), take to fittest girl at checkout and then pay. Oh, I wasn't allowed to do that..... so I had to stand in a 3'x3' cubicle with a full length mirror, giving me nowhere to hide from the realization that perhaps I am not quite in the fine shape I once was. My way is so much quicker and better.
Saintsplayer seem to think I have cancelled my subscription and have given me a chance to renew...I hadn't cancelled it, because I am a dream customer...too lazy to do so. However, it has made me think....Player is nowhere near as good as it used to be. You have access to games held in the archive, but you no longer get exclusive interviews and backstage stuff as it is readily available anyway. I do look at archived matches, but that is it. How many on here have Saints player and, if so, do you think it is worth it now.
I agree that it's not as good as it used to be - far more now goes on the club's youtube channel rather than SaintsPlayer But I do use it for the live match commentary and the extended highlights
Frustrated that the Kel Brook fight is ppv next weekend, mainly because I want to watch Anthony Joshua against a half decent opponent. Not so much to pay another £20 for it though. Watching that twit DeGale tonight though.
No, you're right. Saints Player isn't anything like the value it was. The problem being that one can get fuller coverage from other sources and player interviews and such are just as available on the Youtube channel. However, there is the archive, and there are the Radio Solent commentary highlights, plus there are one or two other things. But I'll keep handing over the money per year. I can say I'm supporting my club in one way, even if I can't get to games these days. BTW, if you check your email you will see that you have been notified by the club of changes in Saints Player and that you need do nothing. However, your annual direct debit may have been stopped by your bank as the receiver's name has changed. Might pay to check.
I'm not going to wade through this thread to look if it has already been reported, but there has been some bass banging and boring, and distant music throughout the day, here in Southampton. Every time I heard it I thought there was some person with their ICE up too loud. But there's a music festival on in the Common this weekend. Penny only dropped about 10 minutes ago.
I didn't actually realise it was on until the penny dropped. I'd heard it was to be on, ages ago, but I didn't connect the sound with the event. I understand that Grace Jones is one of the acts.
