Disagree - much prefer people like him who stand up for what he honestly believes in compared to the likes of Sterling whom let their agents do all the talking and fold like wet flannels.

Surely, even though you disagree with his opinion at least he's stood by it and you must appreciate that.

Role model my arse! Let's not go there. At least retain some credibility!

And employers can't make demands like you suggest. Unless it's specifically contracted, of course. And it wasn't. And isn't.

Last word? With your record on here, there's no such thing. Unless you feel you've lost. Which you have. Again.

My opinion is the sun will come out and I will find three or four winners at Beverley races.
I will be backing these, the rest of you might want to save your cash as I am to tipping what Mike is to football punditry.

I don't expect to win a fortune but with the same stake on each I will see my money back hopefully.

Health warning, Ell I will be doing £10 a pop no £50 bets for me! If you can't afford to lose it you can't afford to gamble.

    Race 1. Taffeta/ Compton River
    Race2. Latham / furiant
Race 3. Eastern angel.... The Mrs will "back kept under wraps" as it is grey and has a chance!
    Race 4. Starlit cantata
    Race 5. Leaderene/fazza
    Race 6. Shamaheart
    Last race. Sovereign bounty/agadoo

Al-Habsi and McClean would be decent signings, but I'd imagine both would want fairly big wages so probably not on our radar.
Jamie Ward is wanted by Forest and other Championship teams in the upper echelons who would undoubtedly offer him more money, so that's out the window. Think he's too injury prone anyway.
Bamba I'd keep but after his Cellino comments I can't see us signing him.
Andy Delort? I'd maybe take him on loan, but if Wigan want to recuperate anything near the £3m they spent it's too much of a gamble. Also it was 24 goals, not 34, and that's the only season he's had anything near a decent goalscoring record.
N'Goyi I'd take back on loan, should've played more I agree. He's done nothing (through no fault of his own, I add) to warrant spending the £2m permanent fee yet though.
Gray is a ridiculous suggestion - linked with much better teams with more money. Also where the hell are we going to find over £6m? Bournemouth had a big bid rejected for him in January, there's no way we'll match them.
Hooper decent player, but if Norwich don't go up I'd imagine they'll keep him around. Probably going to be on big wages from his Premiership contract too. Cellino doesn't do big wages, remember.
Knockaert wouldn't cost anything, he's out of contract. Linked with Standard Liege though and between them and us I think it's fair to say where he'll end up.

Don't expect any players with genuine pedigree - you'll only be disappointed.

Looks like McLEAN has caused a bit of a stir for something that happened a while ago.

I'm not going to take sides as I can see points for arguments on both sides.

We live in a Country that still has freedom of speech and freedom of choice, every footballer is a human being so has the freedom of choice. McLean exercised his right not to wear a poppy, or a shirt with a poppy on it for his own reasons; but it sounds like McLean doesn't know the real reason for people buying and wearing poppies.

Remembrance Day, or Poppy Day is observed around the world in a lot of countries, some countries have their own name for it and observe it on different days. Countries observing a Remembrance style Day include Germany, Eire, N/Ireland and some other non commonwealth countries.

The poppy is a symbol which is neutral and does not represent any side in any war in any country. The red poppy symbolises the blood spilled and people who died during WW1, both soldier and civilian on all sides. The poppy now also symbolises the same for WW2 and other non world wars, it is also a symbol of remembrance and respect.

While some say Footballers are not role models, they actually are, especially to young kids who idolise their footballing heroes.

I had two winners, she backed three, so not bad out of seven races, but all short prices.
All in all a nice day, including getting in to the dear seats "lunch and dinner" a few drinks the day ended up costing us about £30.

Have to admit went chasing my loses and put £50 on sovereign bounty in the last race it came in and paid out £125.

If you can find three winners it is a reasonably cheap day out.
Even more impressed with Beverley than last time , paid a bit more £21 to get in to "posh" bit, it was busy on course but no Larry drunks and no mad Geordies!

Had a nice meat platter £8 for lunch she had a sea food platter. Good quality, good quantity very civilised.
Stopped at the aggrah on A64 on the way back. cheap enough but a bit bland for my taste.

Going off to Northumberland for three days from Tuesday. Linden hall hotel, the golf bats are coming out of retirement. Need to find something to do seen as I won't be giving Cellino my money.

The begging e mails about renewing the STs started on Friday. I wrote to the marketing dept and explained that I won't be renewing because of the way Cellino treats the club, its employees and its fans is a disgrace.

Still don't buy the role model nonsense. But it might explain why so many teenagers go out drunkenly clubbing, fighting with taxi drivers etc.
Who exactly has been a role model?
Stevie G? How many times has he been in court?
    Beckham? Shagging his nanny.
    Shrek? Shagging grannies.
Harry Kewell? Dancing with the devil.
Rat boy? Smashing up anything or anyone Asian.
Shearer? Kicking Lennon in the head.
    Roy Keane? Hahahahahahahahaha!
Keegan? I'd get sued if I suggested the kiddie fiddling rumours were true.
    et cetera.

Who exactly is a role model and more importantly, what does it mean?
