HAIG is saying that Spurs will be the new superpower in English football in the recent future and that the mighty Spurs juggernaught will roll on.

  2. Apart from a couple of blips, we've got used to finishing above you. Had it not been for £ity hitting the Arab jackpot, we'd have comfortably taken your place at the "Top 4" table.

You Mousers always bang on about your history, and whilst it does make impressive reading, it is what it is - history. Get over it, everyone else has.

What's important is how things stand now, and in recent times, and from where most people are standing it's not looking rosy for LFC.

Us, Saints, Everton (when they get back on track) and Swansea are LFC's rivals, now. As are Arsenal, as they always struggle to get 4th every season, and their luck is sure to run out, now that Wenger seems to have completely lost the plot. United have had a slight dip, nothing compared with the spiral-down into mid-table obscurity that 'Pool have suffered. It's been a very long time since LFC was any kind of rival to United.

Don't shoot the messenger, just accept the facts.

I thought I hade kept it pretty recent, when does history end? Is it just a reset at the end of every season and the big clubs are the ones in the top 4 at that point?

With your trophy haul you simply do not have the right to mention yourselves as potential rivals for anyone in the league, historically or in recent times.

  7. League position is the only true indicator we can go by, these days. That's where the true power lies.

For you then the same? Seeing as you consider us rivals?

  11. No, that's the whole point, luvvy! You're our rivals, because you can't get top 4, let alone win a title.

  14. If Poch had been managing Arsenal, they'd be challenging for the title, instead of grubbing around trying desperately to hold on to 4th spot.

That is really stupid argument, you're in the same league so we are all rivals, any team can beat any team on the day, the only difference between any club is consistency, you get that right and you are a top 4 team. Without it you are not, and then risk getting relegated.

Of course it's stupid I'm arguing with Haig. My sensible thoughts are in my first post on here.

We at little old Swansea are the Giant slayers, we like cutting down the big teams to size, it's what we live for and long may it continue, next season we must do the double over Chelski, just to capture the 'Chosen one's' mug, priceless that would be without doubt...........<laugh>

  20. If I'm right, the mighty Spurs is one of only a handful of sides that was able to put Swansea back in their box this season?
