I still think a new build on Stanley Park was the better option and a sign of our commitment to move with the times and modernise.

Anfield is an especially difficult case when it comes to the question of renovate or move. There's so many underlying emotive physical attachments to the ground with Hillsborough having happened, the gates, the memorial, even the Kop itself that to even move these somewhere else would be like breaking their sanctitude. They're commemorative sites and people create massive personal connections to them. You've got the Irish roots, think about all those places during the Troubles where people were murdered and killed and the resonances they carry with them. Even the smallest desecration is unthinkable in the communities that have cultural memory tied up in them. The sites at Anfield function very much like that for LFC fans and Liverpool people. If you close the stadium it's like you're dismissing the reverence and symbolism of it all and lessening the significance of the lives and deaths of the 96. Most other football grounds (thankfully I guess) don't carry those associations and connections so Anfield is pretty special and unique.

I don't care about LVG. I care about LFC.

And Rodgers only had the balls to say that BEFORE he was actually given £100m to spend.

    <laugh>

Rodgers had the 'balls' to say that £100m should buy you a title challenge when he was talking about ****ing Spurs.

When talking about his own £117m spend this season. he said that last season was not realistic and your real level this season was about 5th.......oh and Flannagan being injured had ****ed it

    Balls indeed

Not at only 60k seats though, what's the point? May as well just upgrade anfield piecemeal. I'd have preferred 85k at Stanley -we've roughly the same fanbase size in the UK as man u, we'd fill it.

We lost our way in the eighties. We were at our peak and should have gone on to dominate Europe for years, but due to Moores. Parry, et al we just stayed in our cosy little world whilst the rest of the footballing world moved on. Teams like Utd, Chelsea, City, Arsenal are way ahead of us.

Can we catch up? It will need massive investment both in the team and facilities and I can't see FSG doing it. The Dubai lot might of, but we missed the boat again there

Neville has popcorned you big time with that.

He's enjoyed every second of compiling that I reckon, I bet he was pissing himself by the finish.

He missed the simple straightforward footballing facts though.

As the bottom line is you've only won 1 Mickey Mouse in the last 9 seasons, and that's not what you'd expect from Liverpool of old.

Add to that, you've only qualified for the CL once in the last 5 years, that's the crux of why you're going to struggle to attract and retain top talent.

9 seasons. Rather random number to judge us on.

You could say that in the 5 years since FSG took over we've gone from the possible threat of administration, to win one trophy, reach another final, reach 3 other semi-finals, challenge for the league title, qualify for the Champions' League, and expand our stadium, all while reducing our wage bill, falling well within FFP, and consistently coming at or near the top of the fair play table.

We're also bringing players through our youth system and massively increasing our commercial revenue.

On a whole and judged over multiple years, how many clubs in the country are doing things better?

FFS mate, where's the fun in phrasing it that way?

Everything we do is horrible and everyone else does it far better. Didn't you get the memo?

    And?
What does the cost of their squad have to do with anything?
Or are you assuming that it cost the most so it should be the best?
Because that blatantly isnt the case, otherwise Andy Carroll wouldnt have cost £35m
